Lil' Miss Wojee II is 8 and has never seen Carlton beat Hawthorn.
When Carlton won she did a little fistpump and said "Yes!"
I think she was the only kid in her class who picked Carlton in their footy tipping too

I'm similar Wojee.
My daughter declined a sleepover at a friends house Saturday night so she could attend the last home game of the year. For various reasons, she hasn't attended a win for a couple of years. She would have been devastated if she'd missed it.
She follows all the Carlton social media etc. She even wants to call our dog Charlie.

We need all the sticking fat supporters we can get.

Lamb is hilarious in this game.
Just watching a bit of the replay.
You could insert a lot of batman fight adjectives across his work.
:fight:  :fight:

Be careful there.

If Charlie ever takes home "Charlie" the dog's head is likely to implode.

kicked after siren point disallowed.

Im not sure how that can be the case. The game ends when the umpire hears the siren.
The umpire gave the all clear to the goal umpire so the score should stand.

Ends when any umpire hears the siren. A different field umpire came in and said he heard the siren first, the one closest to the play was likely shouting play on and missed it. I didnt hear the siren at all.

The game ended when the other umpire heard the siren, before Gibbs kicked.

Only exception to this was 'Sirengate'.

I've watched the replay a few times now and on the TV, Gibbs kicks the ball before you can hear the siren.

Maybe the out of zone umpire hears the siren through his earpiece.

Some of these guys after another pre-season! Pickett, Curnow, SPS. Fisher and Williamson will increase their productivity too. Can add Cuningham and McKay in there too I reckon. Building a strong team.

But can we score 100 points? :garthp:

They do get it through the earpiece. I can't quite tell when it goes on the TV coverage, the crowd was that loud.

Anyway, Gibbs probably should have taken the mark and stopped to take time off the clock.

Yep. And what was he jabbering on about when Ling asked him about missing the goal? Was he trying to say it was somehow Boekhorst's fault?
:donk:

Glad to hear it's not just me.

I know he's a rubbish commentator but why the wanker tag?

I barely listen to him so I may have missed something.

I generally commentate the game myself, the kids love it. :)

What a great idea.

We will do the same.

My 9yo knows all the players in every team. He's a footy nut from a very young age, so I wont be missing any names.

Never heard you quietly watching footy....

...as far as I'm concerned Gibbs ran in kicked the sealer, we all went nuts and won by 13points

Probably still crying over the umpiring.
Richo puts the "Special" in Special Comments.

I like Richo. I think he commentates from a place of humility.

Jordan Lewis of all players

LAMB'S SICILY TACTICS 'ILLEGAL'

MELBOURNE star Jordan Lewis “feels sorry” for former teammate James Sicily after he was targeted last weekend.

The forward-turned-defender was tagged by Carlton's Jed Lamb and gave away seven free kicks as he struggled to adapt to the close attention.

However, Lewis believed some of the Blues' tactics were “illegal”.

“I felt a little bit sorry for him on the night,” Lewis told Fox Footy.

“He’s a young kid and quite immature in the way he has played the game and hasn’t played too many games.

“I would imagine some of the treatment he was getting was above the rules and it was probably illegal. But that’s what umpires are there for, if they see a free kick to pay it.

“Lamb obviously went out there to antagonise him, that’s his position in the side, that’s probably why he gets a game. He would have been happy with his game.”
