Bolton: We're disappointed. It hurts, but we fought back and showed great character.
Bolton: The more you're in these close contests, the more you'll learn. Eventually they'll (results) turn.
Bolton: We made fundamental errors in the dying stages. Little moments hurt us.
Bolton: Time and experience will make us better in those crucial stages.
Bolton: We controlled the ball better and defended as a unit after quarter-time.
Bolton: Jones is fantastic. He man match it with the big key forwards. He's been one of the great stories of our season.
Bolton: Murphy, Gibbs and Docherty are really dragging our group along. We've got a lot of players out there with less than 25 games.
Bolton: Pickett has a lot of talent, and we saw that today. With a strong pre-season, we hope we've got a good goalkicker there.

Before we slam Weiters let's ask how many other teams have a 19 year old 2nd year player looking after the No.1 or No 2 forward for the whole of 2017?

Weiters is an awesome rebounder and intercept mark but he's not ready to shut down mature KPF's and isn't the best one on one defender. He's missing Alex Silvagni at the moment. That said, a lot of times today we let the ball come in to Essendon*'s forward line way too quickly before our players had dropped back to assist our key defenders. First quarter was really bad for it.

Was at the game and I loved it.
Yep, Levi can't kick but he is awesome to watch when you are at ground level. Some of those "get out of jail" marks down the line were worth the entry cost....I was in the members but you get my drift.

Pickett really showed his class. He is a keeper and will fantastic in a good team. Our backs were under pressure and they stood up yet again, Plow does it tough each week and he has guts and class...yes there were mistakes, but that's to be expected. Geez the crowd loved giving the friendly banter to Jones, but I think we can see his worth. Again the big pack marks were a feature.

SPS, Fish, SOS were all good.

Lots of serviceable efforts. Murphy kept putting his body on the line and puts his head over it...he earns his money...and should earn respect.....so too Kreuz.

It's a tough game and much tougher than it used to be.

I had a great day with my son....and that's all I ask for.

You just knew Levi would butcher it. Lacks true belief in his kicking. If that's not a good enough reason to ship him off then I'll go jump.

I didn't expect to get close today and would have loved the win.
But again, lots of growth today. SPS and Pickett real positives, along with Jones. Krooz immense. Murphy and Gibbs great second halves. Doc.
Frustrated by silly mistakes but love the effort. Except for a poor turn out from Carlton "supporters".
Keep fighting and growing Blues.

I dunno, I loved what he showed today but I still think he's more suited to wing or half back than forward. Used to be much better as a midfielder than a forward as a junior.

Was expecting a thrashing today.
Why do we give teams starts?
Hate losing to this mob, they will not go far in the finals if they make it.
Proud of the effort and should have sealed it late but misses cost us. As others have pointed out the cheats missed lots too.
Sad to say it but Simmo is done, too many costly turn overs today from him.
Kreuzer is a warrior.
Docherty is a lock for all Australian, but then again he plays for Carlton so no certainty.
Pretty frustrating being a Carlton supporter, but the signs are there.

He'll suddenly kick straight there...lol. Rest of his game is ok.

Not really.
Can't kick
For someone known for his marking, misses too many regulation chest marks
Floats in and out of games.
Lazy lack of effort late in the last qtr led to a goal. Then to top it off, is given a regulation shot at goal to atone and of course misses.
Time to move on from him.

Poor Levi.

Forget the captain turning the ball ove multiple times. Forget Silvani's OOF and other misses. Forget the other 9 behinds we kicked. Forget all the usual missed tackles. It's all Levi's fault for the last quarter miss. I was as disappointed at Levi missing what he should have kicked. But wow the hatred toward him despite all the other good he does is just ridiculous. Just crazy.

I saw a bunch of marks to Carlton players that would never have been taken without Levi's bodywork in the contest.

He's not our future. Our kids will go past him. But he doesn't deserve the whipping he gets here.

Great game from the kids. I'm disappointed for them. Pickett really showed something.

We can live with it this this year as we develop but we must win these games next year. If games stopped at the 15 min of the last qtr this year we'd have 11 wins and playing finals. So we must take the next step next year and finish these games off.

Casboult is $3&^* frustrating. So good at times and so awful at others - especially as the finisher or in his chasing.

Simpson needs another 17 for his 300. I had hoped that he could go another year but I really can't see it now. After a great story the Bambi movie has hit the credits.

Jones made a few mistakes but had another very good game today. What a great outcome for us.

More good signs from the youngsters.

Murphy's disposal by both hand and foot today was barely AFL standard.

He'll suddenly kick straight there...lol. Rest of his game is ok.

The rest of his game:
Mindless push in the back when contesting ruck
Dropped chest mark when ball comes over the top
Stopped chasing in the middle of the ground during the last qtr

Say it anyway you like. He's had a pretty good year overall hence plenty of interest from other clubs.

I'll listen to those with a vested interest than a supporter.

The rest of his game:
Mindless push in the back when contesting ruck - the ump (and you) fell for a complete act from Joe.
Dropped chest mark when ball comes over the top - one dropped mark from a ball he would have never thought would get over the top is t a hangable offence.
Stopped chasing in the middle of the ground during the last qtr - this was indeed ordinary

Comments above in green. So many other mistakes from players go unmentioned yet everybody loves jumping on Levi. His chase was pretty poor though.
