Surely that's preferable to Essendon* winning by 15 goals. And Joe and Fantasia and McDonald-Tipingwuti show-boating for 2 hours. And the Essendon* media and supporters squealing with unrealistic delight.

There's a fair chance of this getting ugly either way. I'd rather a really, really ugly game. Than a really, really ugly thrashing.

We don't have the midfield strength/speed to just take them on... with their run and spread they may belt us by triple figures.

I'd rather a boring slog than a junkie inspired fapfest

I reckon we've still got one good game left in us this season. We're not as bad as we've been playing the last few weeks. Just a young side struggling to bring consistent effort every week. This season is actually very similar to last. Good first half of the season, with consistent effort and some big upset wins, followed by a month of close, competitive losses against good sides that we could have/should have beaten, before falling away at the end of the season. But we had that upset win against Melbourne in the second last round. I reckon we've still got that game coming where we come out switched on and everything goes right for us. Let's hope it's next weekend

They kicked 13 goals 19 behinds this week so I pretty much know how it's going to go next week.

I'd like to see more games into Macreadie and Pickett.

Jones vs Danihair

Marchbank vs Stewart

Plowman vs Hooker

Bombers are bloody tall, and quick.

Gibbs Murphy Kreuzer have to stand up in the midfield ... for long periods.

Essendon* will give us a good old fashioned toweling. 80+ point pants down. May even beat us up a little whilst their at it and injure a couple of our boys just for good measure. Only a true self loathing narcissistic masochist would venture to go see that game ...

Need more speed... And then some overlap run and handball.... Not sure we did it once last night!?
Anyway... We stick to our usual 'structure' we'll be opened up again.... Also if Kruezer is out, we're in even more trouble

Essendon** have the game plan that does well against ours. I know we beat them earlier this year but they where different circumstances. This game will prove a lot to me about our game plan. Essendon** aren't that good.

What circumstances apart from the weather? Wet or dry, we were the better team that day!
Sadly it seems like a lifetime ago.

Just ruck Casboult and McKay. Don't care if we don't win a tap out, you can rove to the opposition, both would be valuable around the ground.

I'm with you jake. Just to change the pessimism around. Even if we lose, at least make them avoid a percentage booster in this very tight season.
My expectations for this game are...none. But I'm not ruling out a devastating loss...for either side.

I'd like us to rest Weitering this week and give KJ a run. Rest a few kids and play Palmer and Smedts. Nothing to lose as the kids are cooked for the year. May as well have big bodies at the contest.

B: Byrne Weitering Plowman
HB: Simmo Marchbank Docherty
C: Thomas SPS Cunningham
HF: Fisher C Curnow Kerridge
F: Wright Casboult McKay

R: Jones Gibbs Murphy
Inter: Lamb, Pickett, SOJ, Williamson

In- Byrne, Pickett
Out- Kreuzer (inj), White

I would suggest we rest Weitering and give KJ a chance to prove everybody wrong, but that would be silly talk...

The problem is we are running out of midfielders that can rove at a stoppage.

We hardly got any against Geelong.
