I can't get on board with this losing @#$%&! mentality. This is not the game I grew up with.

I really don't want us to finish last.

Is there really that much difference between pick 1 & 3??

In this day and age the difference is trade leverage for free agents. Let's say Norf finish last. Kelly nominates Norf where his Dad played as his preferred destination. Then the Giants are forced to take a semi ok Norf deal or Kelly walks into the draft and goes to Norf anyway. If Norf finishes 3rd last then they have less leverage.

Thankfully not many people are jumping on this bandwagon again. Several think we'll try our hardest and still finish last but not many WISHING we finish last.

Watching any game of friggin football these days is not what I grew up with.

I pretty much watch Carlton and that's it these days.

The AFL as an industry, a brand and concept has gone to the dogs.

As the Club has stated all year, nobody is measured on wins, its the non-negotiables we are measured on.

Our first half was pathetic, and the players will have been told in no uncertain terms.

Turn up with mindset and intent and of course we can win more games. We only just lost to a group of top teams prior to the weekend.

It's all about the kids, bring in Byrne and what more can we ask for but effort?

I dare say Norf won't be trying too hard to win any games because they'll want the best pick possible if they're any chance to get Kelly. Lions are probably happy with any top 3 pick.

Yep I was thinking the same thing.

Interesting that Ziebell was left out of their side last week as he was being "managed".

@#$%&! finishing last. I've had enough of finishing last. 4 times in 15 seasons. Anyone who thinks pick 1 is worth the shit culture finishing last creates at a club has rocks in their head. Imagine the shot in the arm beating bloody Hawthorn would give the club. My son is 11. He's never seen the Blues beat Hawthorn. That is simply outrageous

Well put. I know I've already said my piece but the 4 spoons in 15 bears repeating. Where did that get us? Needing a complete reset after 13 years. Whoop-de-!@#$ing-doo. Bottoming out doesn't mean you're destined for the top; the best thing you can say about it is that the only way is up.

Not a fan of ranking at all but I don't think it's gonna be an issue this year. Midfield just isn't deep enough to compete without Cripps and to a bit lesser extent Curnow. Same thing happened last year once Murphy went down.

Without priority picks there isn't a huge incentive to tank.

I mean does anyone know who will be number 1,2 or 3 in the draft? Regardless we should be able to get a very good prospect.

I'd rather win all our games remaining as it would be worth it for the confidence it would give us for next season and mean the side is going places.

In all reality we could finish last regardless.

People are still obsessed with tanking and probably will be forever unless it was a completely randomized draft

If North think Kelly will just walk to the PSD without GWS getting compensated they're deluding themselves. No top line player does that anymore.

Looking at our draw and the draws of the Lions and North we are a huge chance to finish last and snag that number 1 pick.
We have established ourselves now as a team on the rise and believe finishing last this season could be the biggest bonus of all.

We are clearly not a side who desperately needs the number 1 pick but to add to that pick to our raft of young talent is the best result for us moving forward.

I know the club won't tank but i think it's time to see KJ, Boakhurst, Kerridge, Graham, Buckley, Sumner and every other fringe player we have play out the season. So we can access which one's will continue on at the club. The pro to doing that is we are probably not going to win another game.

What do you all think?

just keep playing the flower

problem solved
