I'm anticipating a much more focused performance from Richmond on our team strengths. I expect Doc and Gibbs and one or two others will be targeted for some serious attention. Another great test for our young team as we will be the hunted.

Too much positive media for my liking for this one....
In years gone by, a Robert Walls just needed to pen an inkling of a feel good story to a player(s) and they'd capitulate the next week.
A couple of good efforts in recent weeks has shown some solid resilience by the boys
Toiges are get-able but will be interesting to see how much bathwater gets drunk in the coming days.

re team lineup - How would a Pickett v Rioli match up go (in place of Willow)?

I always think the same. Although last week we had lots of publicity and we managed to back up our good win against GWS.
I think Docherty will be paid a lot of attention this week.

I look forward to how Docherty handles the attention, but I also look forward to Bolt's plan B as I have no doubt he will be aware that the Tigers will keep their forwards in their forward half and no press up into our forward line. Could be interesting to see our forward line with a bit of room to move, maybe a rising star for Curnow if he can exploit the space

The combination of universal praise for us and mounting pressure on them is a frightening one...

Tigers have a pretty zippy forward line now. Maybe Dylan gets his chance?

Not exactly rocket science but sounded like a message to Hardwick.

Be interesting to see how Tigers match up on them.

That got a bit of air time the week prior to the Suns game. Staggering how Eade let us set up and play in the first half.

Betcha Docherty starts the game in the centre square again.

Boekhorst takes willos spot and picky comes in.

I wonder if Dylan Buckley might get an opportunity this week?

I like both of those ideas, Pickett would be considerably fitter now.

They've given (last?) chances to Graham, Jones and Boekhorst lately and all have done well, they might think it's a good time to give Buckley a run against that fast Tigers forward line.

What was stagering was how Eade was totally outcoached by a newbie coach. It shows how Boltons system works. For things to work, eveything must work together and in unison.

It was mentioned to Buckley last week and he said it is not easy to come up with ways to assign "run with" players to defenders without ruining your own system. Which would be true with all the structures and presses. A tagged defender could use all sorts of tricks to mess with their setups. Can be done though but usually poorer teams pull it off as they are more likely to not back their system and go super defensive and hope for the best.

With Williamson out the backline is:

Plowman - Jones - Marchbank
Docherty - Weitering - Simpson

Which is a very solid line-up, if somewhat tall for the otherwise small Tigers forward line.

Based on the VFL game on the weekend:

If they want a small defender: Buckley.
If they want to add to the midfield rotation: Graham / Palmer
If they want to add to the forward-line: Pickett

Jaksch could come in if they wanted to add a swingman.

Unless Sumner recovers, then I'd expect them to pick him again, seeing as he was only an out due to injury.

If they tag Doc, he goes to the midfield and Simmo and (say) BB take up the sweeper roles.
If they tag Simmo, Doc and BB.
They can't tag both as well as Murphy/Gibbs and Cripps.

We are getting to the stage where the talent pool is such that choking off one player won't affect the team so much.

I am thinking they are morel likely to tag Gibbs than anybody else. They can't just let him run riot. His skill level with ball in hand is too high.

Macreadie looked off the pace on the weekend. Don't think he's in line for a promotion based on that performance.

I'd like to see Sheehan be given a crack at AFL again this year, now is a good chance.
