Could have (should have?) been 5-6 goals up early. Not helped by losing a couple of rotations early. Then Cripps hampered by injury. Rowe played and Thomas Not helped by atrocious umpiring. Inability to make anything of the inside 50s. No small forwards applying pressure. Fremantle able to sweep the ball out with ease. Poor conversion from Jack Silvagni in the first half. Kreuzer torched by Sandilands in the second quarter very costly. Plowman a few shocking errors - running too far was very costly. Do SPS and Charlie need a run in the reserves? Another week where a small forward torched us. It seems Plowman was the match up on Walters. Recruitment needs to focus on a lockdown small defender and quick small forward who will apply pressure. |

Small forwards have been killing us for years. Absolute garbage free kick to end the game. |

Memo to club- Grow some balls and savage the umpires in the media. No good doing it behind closed doors asking for explanations. And tell the AFL to jam the fine right up their arse. |

4 frees 15 out directly in front. All there technically. The throwing the ball rule is dead it seems. That was a comprehensive thrashing in every aspect of the game after 1/4 time. I just sat in dumb disbelief at how inept we were by comparison. |

I counted 5 goals from the result of free kicks maybe even 6. |

Worked very hard without much reward. No half forward line today which hurt with the rebound. A few too many passengers. J. Silvagni didn't do much, neither did SPS. That was compounded by the lack of rotation due to injuries. On the positives, I thought we were well coached, blackline stood up -- great game from Williamson who is already the best field kicker at the club -- and I thought our leaders were very good. Murphy in particular gave his all as did Kreuzer. I also thought Cunningham showed something. As a development priority, Zack Fisher needs to work on his right side. If he can do that, given his competitive streak and other tricks, he could become a very good player for us. Would like to see a couple of changes next week. |

Pros: Murph and Ed. Kreuzer around the ground. Very encouraged by Cuningham's performance. Loved Fisher's cleanness. Williamson. Although injuries are a negative. I'm kind of happy that some others will get a go at senior level. Cons: Inaccuracy. We're not good enough to win when we waste scoring opportunities. Crowd influenced umpires. About half of Freo's goals came from umpire intervention. Kreuzer's inability to compete at centre bounces, for the 2nd week in a row. May not suit our team balance, but I wonder if it's time for Phillips to come back in. The inability of Charlie and Casboult to make a marking contest in the 3rd quarter when we were dominating the territory battle. Some terrible turnovers at half back that led to easy goals. Although I suspect we were taking more risks than usual in an attempt to get back in the game. |

Of course it had no bearing on the result, but there were too many not paid to us that were also "technically there" BS |

Ordinary game, and players such as Neale, Fyfe and Sandilands were the difference. Williamson was a shining light for us. |
