Effort and progress is all you can ask for and we showed plenty.
Very good in the back half, got some work to do across the middle and forward of the ball.

Go Blues!

Disappointed with the result but very pleased with the effort.

Some of the umpiring decisions or the ones that were not paid, were woeful (MAGGOTS)

Good effort. I think SPS needs a rest.

Considering last 2 beltings against them that was very encouraging.

Could even go past them as early as next year.

Great signs.

Our defence is incredible. Under seige all day. Plowman and Docherty were great.

Killed in the middle. Desperately need another ball magnet in there. Cripps was sensational (goal missed aside)
The kids are still the ones keeping us in the contest. Never say die attitude is great.
Fisher out for Cuningham.

Commentary doesn't seem to understand our gameplan is forcing teams to make a lot of the errors. No credit whatsoever.

Well done Blue Boys! Bl00dy maggots. Fair dinkum throw in our goal square missed (they've really got to crack down on those crow throws) then a 50 metre penalty for ... what. WHAT?

We nearly had them today. Wasnt much in it. A few wonky kicks..a panic here and there.. a mind numbingky stupid ump. That's it.

Played OK, lacked polish.

Jack Steven must circle our game every season.

Close enough to say that one got away when a massive chance to win.

Had a few players down on the day and too many howlers against a good side on a quick deck.

Overall, progressing really well. We're a new team.... finally.

This was a better effort than when we last played them and got belted, but we made crucial errors which gave them soft goals. We allowed the Saints to control the pace for the majority of the game and when they did we went back into our old game of overposessing the ball until we turned it over. There were several questionable calls against us including dodgy frees and 50s that they got and frees that we didn't. As usual apparently it is fine to fall to the ground on the ball, making no attempt or just letting it drop out of your hands when you are tackled with it. Can't stand Saints players, especially cry baby Riewoldt and hate their fans even more. I take comfort from knowing that they won't make any serious impact in the finals, if they even reach them.

Good effort. A few dumb mistakes, particularly in the third quarter and some questionable umpiring decisions pretty much decided the result.

St Kilda supporters as [REDACTED] as always. Did they honestly think Murphy took out Carlisle?

Again silly decision making and bad disposal cost us when the game was there to be won. Happy with the overall effort though.
Go Blues!!

Our mistakes cost us dearly in the end but the umpires were embarrasingly one eyed today.
They (umpires) need to take a good hard look at themselves and saints supporters are the worse in the league. They truely are gutter types!

Ps. That was a shocker by Casboult.

You can't win them all but you can make a statement with the way you go about it.

One we might have stolen.
Apart from three silly misses from ten out and a Gibbs dropped chest mark, it was a great effort.
They are ahead of us in their rebuild and ran over us in the last.
Bolts would be happy with the over all effort.
I don't think anybody really expected us to win.
24 points flattered them.

Pros:

Smart coaching.
Kept trying.
Accuracy and efficiency in the forward line.
Murphy, Docherty, COS.
SOJ in the first half. Cripps in the 2nd.

Cons:

Probably can't afford too many low possession plodders in that venue/conditions. Graham was excellent with his ball use except for one passage of play in the 3rd. But didn't get a lot out of Daisy and Wright. Just got outran in the end.
Non-competitiveness at centre bounces, especially in the first half.
Those 2 goals botched by Cripps and Fisher.
The umpires love affair for Riewoldt and his blond hair and innocent expression and flailing arms.

The umpiring was atrocious! It's as if the rules don't exist. The umpiring is always poor, but this was just pathetic. It's one rule for us and another for the Sainturds. Great effort by the boys and if it wasn't for the crappy umpiring we were right in it. Onward and upward for the Blues.

BTW the Brad Moran goes to Billings or does he not meet the requirements?

And does anybody else think there was an ankle tap on cripps after he got past the mark and thats why he tripped?

You know umpiring is bad when the commentators keep talking about the mistakes, throws and ridiculous 50 metres.
