Hopefully their hammies will be sore from kicking the shit out of the Dawks and we can make it two-and-two.

Hard to make changes after such a great effort however if Charlie Curnow is fit you'd think he will replace the late inclusion Palmer.
Personally I'd like to see either Fisher or Polson come in the side to replace Kerridge as well.

Will be a tough game. Gold Coast with an easier win.

It will all about how we recover from today's slog

A win was fantastic but we played with 18 solid contributors yesterday.
Kerridge had 8 possessions including 4 clangers. Struggled in the wet conditions and IMO, was a surprise selection after burning the ball in the VFL the week before.

Palmer had 12 possessions with 6 clangers. Hard at it but didn't do enough.

Pickett had 11 possessions and 5 clangers. He's only a kid and deserves another opportunity but surprisingly for a skilled player, he struggles with the wet ball.

Daisy had 16 possessions, 5 clangers and was the only player not to win a contested possession. In fact he's averaging 2 contested possessions per game this season. Compare that to Murphy who has 37 contested possessions in 3 games, Ed Curnow who has 37, Cripps who has 34 or Gibbs who has 43. If we're going to carry players who cant win their own ball, we want kids who can at least use it when it's given to them.

I'd bring in Curnow, Graham and Polson. Polson was zippy and persistent and Graham deserves promotion after consistent form in the VFL. Pickett deserves another opportunity and retains his place.

I doubt it will happen, but I would like to see-
In: Cunningham, Graham, Smedts
Out: Kerridge, Palmer, Thomas

If Weitering needs a week off (concussion) then I would pick Jaksch to replace him, ahead of Charlie & Harry.

Same outs as me but different ins.
I'd rather see Cunningham get another game or 2 in the VFL. For the first time he seemed to be understanding how to win some uncontested ball on Saturday and I think the VFL is the perfect place for him to continue that. Smedts was good and I'm perplexed why he was dropped in the first place. Perhaps he wasn't following the coaches instructions correctly because on face value, his performance seemed worthy of retention.

I am glad the Suns smashed the Dorks for many reasons but the main one is that now the Blues cannot take this match as a walk in the park.

Kerridge (courageous etc. but hurts us more than the opposition) and Palmer out for Smedts and probably Graham - though would love to see Polson get a go

Agree with the outs. We knew we had a good (and building) backline. Midfield is now looking better - and almost all of them kicked a goal against Essendon*. Forward line exerted plenty of pressure - but not a single goal from them.
Out: Kerridge, Palmer
In: Fisher or Polson and Graham.
If Weitering needs a break - lets give KJ a shot (agree about leaving Charlie in the 2's until he gets hungry)

Hope to see Boekhorst step up at some stage (or any winger who can hit a lead up forward...)

We have been known to lose to this mob before, even when they were a bigger basket case than they are today.
Is Saad the guy who used to play for the Ants?
We need pace and so the outs have to reflect that need.
I thought Kerridge played well enough to get a game next week but in the interests of pace, he might have to go and palmer? He did a lot of running around and getting to the ball but didn't do much after that. Wright was also pretty quiet. Don't know his stats but once again, in the interests of pace he might be in contention.
Horses for courses. The MC should be like cricket selectors based on the wicket.
GCS has quick, skilled players and we need to counter that.
Simple.
Pick a team that can match it.
Gazza picked a good week to get back to his best. Hopefully he will have a day off next week or Ed will be busy.
SPS played very well in little snatches yesterday and his ball control in the wet was very good. Maybe we will see him in the open next week, same as Pickett.
All of a sudden I am thinking we might win this and start a string of victories.
Casboult had a good game in the wet and got his hands on a lot of almost marks. If he does that next week under the roof, he will clunk plenty. He has a better record kicking for goal than Jack this season.
Just saying.

We need skills at Etihad more than anything else.

Pretty easy to select the team on that basis.

I was pleased with the skill, on a mostly general basis, yesterday.

Same ppl calling for speed wanting Graham in...?

Take Daisy out and put it someone with pace who can stick tackles and win ball. Daisy has no pace, hasn't won his own ball in a while nor stuck tackles. Cunningham, Fisher, Polson... whoever's looking the best. Rest of the team has to stay as it was, given the team result.
