9/10 great work by SOS, only loses a point for overpaying in getting Kennedy. We keep doing better deals for GWS than the other teams by comparison.

Terry "the list manager" Wallace ranked the clubs on their trade period. He gave us equal top rating with a handful of other clubs.
Really sad to lose Gibbs but I understand why we did it.

I've been wishing to see Gibbs out of our club for years, and I'm VERY happy to see him go. I think we did okay with the picks so far. So many factors, so many unknowns in this game, who can really say with any certainty. Development development development ...

David Cuningham 30/3/97 (2015 ND#23)
Charlie Curnow 3/2/97 (2015 ND#12)

not a bad haul from the 2015 draft !

the question then becomes, what draft picks will we get for them in 2025?

Buckenara rated us an A+
I believe Pelchen rated us an A.

Will the proposed Palmer payout save one?

So far 5 players off the senior list and three on. So another player has to go in order for us to take minimum 3 picks in the draft.

I'm guessing that we probably won't use pick 73 in the draft, but would be keeping a close eye on what might be gettable at our high pick in the PSD.

If we use one of those picks that will be a second player to have to go.

IRC the club let Sumner continue to train with the group pending possible rookie spot. It will be interesting to see if same is said during the next one or two delistings.

I feel for all of the players in the firing line. Simon White, Nick Graham and Dylan Buckley have been excellent clubmen from what I have seen.

Of the latter three I think Graham has the most likely improvement in him. At worst he will again be very useful playing in the guts for the NBs next year. Impacts the game very strongly at that level and that is valuable for our other developing players.

Is Bolton on a fixed term contract? I thought he was employed on a staff (on going) agreement that rolls on but either party can terminate at any time? If I’m correct, there’s no need to ‘extend’ his agreement.

You would think Palmer will be released out of his contract

Buckley
Graham
Palmer
Sheehan
White

I reckon at least 2 of the above will be getting tapped on the shoulder next week.

I think atleast 2 of Boek, Buckley, graham and white will be delisted.

Allowing us 3 draft picks plus pick 73/DFA

I would keep Boek and Graham and delist white and Buckley

AFL Website: Wankers of the week!

Well picked up Ryan on the minnows of football commentary: the AFL website.
Ironic isn't it.

Ex Hawks recruiter Pelchen gave us an A, as did SENs Terry Wallace A, and Buckenara another A, Commercial TV commentary are very favourable too, etc etc, and the apprentice journos gave Carlton trade period a 6/10 despite the activity, let alone keeping our pick 3 for a mid and adding pick 10 to our arsenal for another mid, and adding 2 x 2nd rounders in the so called "super draft". That's just 1 point more than Hawks, Pies and others who did nothing, zilch.

The whole footy world knows we are in rebuild, the profile we are after, the need for higher draft picks, and the addition of mids who fit the profile and window we are targeting. The word rebuild suggest rebuild, not keeping older players who may not be around for our next tilt but have trade value to get us what we need/ want.

The AFL apprentice journos seem to have forgotten the above, yet in their synopsis suggest we have added young mids to bolster our midfield. They also suggest we lost Rockliff and the loss of Gibbs ALSO leaves a whole in the midfield. We never had Rockliff. He was an option, not a player. Whats with the "ALSO"? He was offered more money at Port and he isn't exactly the right fit for our targeted profile. ...what was the AFL journos spin on that?

Here's the names of of the AFL apprentices:

Nick Bowen
Nathan Scmook
Dinny Navaratnam

Did they hear whispers about Devons chronic knee and that he chose a club who will nurse him through the injury?
Did they consider Carlton we not prepared to over pay for Rockliff, and only want players who WANT to play for Carlton?
Do they know good the Super Draft is next year.
Do they realise we have held our fire and have huge cap space for a big play for Trade/ FA next year in our final year of the rebuild?

I think they should have another read of what they penned then have a look at the score they gave SOS compared to other teams who basically failed to participate.

It is a normal staff contract with 3 year protections built in. If he was dismissed before 3 years, he would have got a payout. After 3 years, just usual notice period.
However an extension, would protect the club from poachers. Think about GWS if Cameron doesn't work out (which is now likely), or Pies if Bucks fails. If carlton are travelling well at the time and Bolts can get out of his contract with 1 months notice, he becomes a fair target.

A bit harsh. I only do that because you bastards are usually all asleep when I am hard at work solving the club's problems.
