Happy with all those signings. Just hop White isn't re-signed.

Agree Rhino, love his passion and no doubt gives 100% but we now have better defensive options.

White has been told he has to wait until after trade period. He has a local footy club lined up to take him if he gets the cut. Also don't be surprised if he gets a Walker type role at the club.

Good I hope he gets the walker type role has given great service and is highly regarded around the club for what he can bring but hopefully isn't on the playing list next year

Yes to the boys listed below for next year and beyond,
Tom Rockliff, will be very handy addition.
Devon Smith, kid can play forward and through the mid.
Harley Balic, home sick, boy is a jet, wing/half forward.
And pick 3 for Cameron Rayner, kid will be a gun...
Goodbye to,
Graham, White, Buckley, Palmer and Smedts.

Agree and quite a few more goodbyes next year for final big clean up.
Only change I'd make is swap Rayner for Andrew Bradshaw or Stephenson.

What are the changes Rayner would slip to 3? He would be a perfect addition to our side.

If some of the phantom drafts being written up are anything to go by, could be a big chance.

Depends whether there's any truth to the BL and GC "stay away from Vic metro" policy.

Looking at the phantom drafts most of the top 15 are vic metro. Would be a hard policy to implement if true

True, but it does apply to Dow and LDU.

The bloke I would like to see make it to Carlton next year is Izak Rankine. Even now ... would eat Rayner for breakfast. I believe he will be the best young talent in ten years and will go number one. Unfortunately we won't get him because we will make the 8 in 2018

Happy to get Smith if he is fit. (Is he out of contract ... can he walk to pre-season draft)? Same with Kennedy. If they can't walk ... the big question is how do we get them? I don't want to lose Gibbs ... but if all the players mentioned (Smith, Kennedy, Saad) are going to get to Carlton I am starting to smell smoke.

Also ... I don't want to trade away future picks in a deep draft pool in 2018. We also need to keep in mind that we might need some picks for Ben Silvagni if he has a big year.

If they can't walk, we normally give em a 4 year deal at the price of an elite midfielder, stick em in the forward pocket, and praise their leadership abilities...

Richmond's win should have* a massive impact for our future in two ways:
1) It shows that success is not necessarily as far away as it may seem (reinforcing similar message from Bulldog's win in 2016). This may increase the chances of Gibbs choosing to stay...
2) If he requests a trade to Adelaide again, Adelaide falling at the last hurdle should up the price they are prepared to pay. (

* I say 'should have' b/c notwithsatnding my points above, I suspect the deal has already been done in the background and any delay will simply be part of a formula which determines final pick/player swaps depending on other trades e.g. what Adelaide gets in return for Jake Lever etc...

Personally, I wouldn't be averse to Adelaide's highest pick (for Lever...) + 2nd round pick from next year's deep draft...

Could Rockliff play the Grigg role ( the new Leigh Brown role) ? Onballer come second ruck.
Charlie Curnow also an option. Bearing in mind Grigg doesnt really do anything in the ruck but keep the oppo ruckman accountable. He then becomes an extra onballer.
Of the 29 ruck contests Grigg took in the finals he lost them all but Richmond won those clearances by a long way losing only 4.
