TBH I don't think Gibbs is what Adelaide need to go that one step further.

I think Gibbs would win the Brownlow at Adelaide. In fact if we get Rockliff and Kennedy to Carlton, I think he could win it next year.

I hope this doesn’t stop us from trading Gibbs. I’d like to see us end up with the crows pick 10 they receive for Lever and go to the draft with pick 3, 10, 38 and 56 + kennedy and Saad

Saad will allow Docherty to play more midfield and take over from Murphy and Saad will add some dash off half back
Kennedy and Cripps will be the grunt in the middle for the next 10 years
SPS, Cunningham, Pick 3 and Pick 10 will develop into fine players and support Kennedy and cripps

I’d consider throwing Jack Trengove from the Dees a lifeline. I think he has some good footy in him and is a top bloke to have around the club and our young list..... and he comes cheap.

Umm.. who do we think will be available at pick 10 that would be anywhere near as good as Gibbs? It'll have to be a better offer than that. Gibbs is a required, **contracted** player. Pay up cauliflower or have a sook, those are your two options.

Gibbs won’t win us a premiership

Draft picks for Bryce Gibbs will help us win a premiership.

We are at least at a 3 more years from playing finals and + another 2 more years on top of that from finishing top 4 at a minimum so why keep a player that could possible net us quality kids that could turn out to be 10+ year premiership player for us

Losing Gibbs will set us back and will hurt us in the short term but saying that, I’m will to cop the hit for longer and sustained success.

Next years draft is one of the finest crop of kids to come through the system. I would trade Kruzer at the end men of next year if he has another stellar season. If we win the same amount or less games we could qualify for a priority pick

Saying all of that, it all comes down SOS picking the eyes out of the next two drafts and finding us a steal or 4 with mid to late picks

Fact: Bryce Gibbs father played till his mid 30's, and Bryce being similarly resilient should do the same. Meaning 5-6 more years of football by which time we should (we hope) be seriously challenging
Fact: There are no guarantees with draft picks, ever
Fact: This years' draft is not deep, and is nowhere near as good as next years'
Fact: Our midfield lacks depth already, and losing Gibbs to bring in a pick 10 will further weaken us in that department.
Fact: Bryce is contracted to Carlton, and given recent salary cap increase we actually have him cheaply for the next two years

I leave you to your common sense and forward thinking.

So:

Bryce's father did not play until his mid 30's.
There is guaranteed success with draft picks
This years draft is as good as next years
Our midfield doesn't lack depth
Bryce is not contracted to Carlton, and his salary is not cheap considering his worth to us.
