Oh my god!!!!! Nobody has said that!!!!

This all started with Craig's comment and Bolton just decided to mention it specifically in his presser.

"We make decisions not about where we might finish towards the bottem end of the ladder but we make decisions for the long term into the future because that's why we keep putting Zac Fisher out there, that's why SPS starts in the middle, that's why Charlie is playing Center Half Forward in his second year, because all those decisions are about the long term".

It's not about wins and losses. It's about decisions for the long term.

I hope you have a smile on your face SB. I hope you enjoyed our baby blues winning a great game. I had a ripper night and I genuinely hope everybody enjoyed it as much as I did.

GO BLUES!!!!
Loved every minute of it

One thing that has made this season so enjoyable for me have been our performances against top 8 sides.

By way of interesting comparison, not reigniting the 'improvement debate' which has been done to death so let's move on past it, is the following fact:

2015 - zero wins against top 8 sides
2016 - one win against top 8 sides
2017 - three wins against top 8 sides

This years 3 wins against top eight sides GWS, Sydney and Essendon* have been so enjoyable. As have the 3 wins against bottom eight sides the Hawks, Pies and Suns also of course.

See wins are important.
Results are measured in wins and losses and doesn't everyone feel good that we won

We've certainly built the team from the back in this re-set (had to throw in that cliche). COS and probably Rowey are going to find it hard to fit back in long term due to age and in Rowe's case the knee issue at his age. But the rest of that group has years ahead of it

Sir Liam is one of the best stories of the year for mine. Apart from JK in Perth he's beaten every big name he's played on and he's played on the best KP's going around. Some of his defensive spoils going back with the flight, and without giving away a free were unreal last nite. Surely gets the "most improved player" award !!

Byrne is another great story. Adds massively to our run and hard nosed defensive pressure on the smaller fwds. Looking fwd to him next year with a full pre season under his belt. Williamson and Macreade are just kids, so to show what they have in first year is huge. They are going to be rippers for us, with Williamson easily able to play a wing or on ball role with his great foot skills and smarts.

We all feel good when we win.
Some of us throw the baby out with the bath water and cry the heavens are falling when we lose.
Some of us see the bigger picture even when we lose.

once again the twisted argument - no one - no one at all has said they do not enjoy a win, some of us, however, are not blinded by wins as we work to the real goal - flags and sustained success - until then all wins are just niceties along the way.
will it be BB ? - frankly no one knows but at least there is a feel and a look, an energy if you like, of a club that has finally got some sense of itself back. Even the celebration of the '87'ers from all reports was well done, a celebration of our history without a clouding over of what we still must do.

It has never been the losses that have hurt me, it's been the loss of the Bluebagger spirit. That - and regardless of his ultimate success of a coach, that BB, SOS and a bunch of kids are seeking to return to us - interesting we won in front of the 87'ers - old Carlton always strove to win the ones that mattered (often we did) and new Carlton seeks, it seems to me, to do the same.

special mention to Fish - I just love the way he goes about it.

If you believe the Kelly to Carlton talk it all seemed fairly predictable... pick 1 and change for Kelly.

That's all out the window now, everything's on the table.

Just hope we don't have to trade one of the kids away.

Williamson interchanges with Byrne who plays up the ground...

Macreadie eventually replaces Plowman... Macreadie is taller, quicker, more agile and a better user of the ball

COS replaces Jacob when he plays forward

Plus depth, there are always injuries!

This. Lachie is a solid defender but his decision making and disposal are very flawed.

He's 2nd on the Carlton list for disposal efficiency with 85%

don't get the heat on plowman - has had a fine and consistent season - wouldn't mind a few of our others having such a season - might be further up the ladder

I don't think Lachie Plowman is in our best back six of once Williamson, Byrne, Docherty and MacReadie lock down the down the running back positions, and Jones, Weitering/Marchbank lock down the key defensive posts.

Docherty can float into the midfield if needs be.

I'm a Plowman fan, does a good job week in week out, and his disposal efficiency as pointed out is very good.

I think Williamson is headed for the midfield sooner rather than later.
