Hope they just sign Sheehan for 2018. He's got AFL tricks and there's plenty of primary list space.

Some people believe players who get injured often have only themselves to blame. Not saying I'm one of these people but it's an interesting thought. Has Sumner ever been in Good shape?

I am with you on this. How old is he though?
26?
How many 26 year olds have played just a handful of games then make the grade after 26? It'd be very few.

Match report: Brilliant Blues stun Swans

CARLTON forward Jack Silvagni has been cleared of structural damage to his right shoulder but remains in doubt for Saturday's blockbuster clash against Collingwood.

Silvagni copped a heavy knock to his shoulder in a collision with Zak Jones during the second quarter of the Blues' win over Sydney on Saturday.

The 19-year-old spent the rest of the game on the sidelines, but AFL.com.au understands scans have cleared him of major injury.

Silvagni was in considerable discomfort on Saturday but his condition has since improved markedly.

He remains very sore, however, and has suffered significant bruising, so he will have to prove his fitness later this week.

First-year Blues midfielder Zac Fisher experienced hamstring tightness in Saturday's win and was due to be assessed on Monday, but emerging swingman Jacob Weitering (corked thigh) is expected to be fit to take on the Magpies.

Great news. Happy to give him a week off and blood Kerr or McKay, or give KJ a shot

Fisher suffered from hamstring tightness.

I'm always concerned about players pying on with hamstring tightness.
It is a sign of things to come if not rested.

Having said that, it may have been cramp.

I hope he plays against the Pies.
He really makes 50/50 situations work in his favour.
Uncanny closing speed and x factor.

Blues defend medical staff after Rowe call

SCANS have confirmed Carlton defender Sam Rowe has a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament that will end his 2017 season.

Rowe, 29, injured his right knee in the Blues' loss to Fremantle at Domain Stadium on Sunday, with the Blues confirming on Monday the key defender would require a knee reconstruction.

Carlton football manager Andrew McKay said Rowe would meet with specialists this week to consider his options.

"Sam is a strong character who has been through considerable adversity before and bounced back," McKay said.

"Although he is clearly disappointed, we know that Sam will tackle his rehabilitation with the dedication and total professionalism that he has shown throughout his football career."

More to come

Bugger.. Playing well too... Is the BEAST (Jones) going to fill the breech? Maybe it was all part of the plan!

Incredibly disappointing for Rowe. He has gone from being a TC whipping boy to a respected AFL key defender.

30 in November- he really didn't need this.

It will hurt the team in the short term too.

1-2 weeks by the look of it.

I hope Kreuzer doesn't injured, not much left besides Gorringe.
Did I read somewhere today that Ed Curnow is out for 4 weeks and both Murphy and Plowman carrying knee injuries.
