Tony Shaw thinks Andrew Walker's 200 games as an indigenous Carlton player will probably never be beaten. I don't even really understand what he means. Don't think he does either... ![]() |

Sad to see one of our best players over the past 13 years call it a day. It was obvious today that he cannot do what he wants any more so good one him for going out on his terms. One D. Thomas might take a leaf out of that book. |

Can't spin that. Atrocious on so many levels. Walks deserved better than that rubbish. Sadly we might have to face up to the sobering fact that new Carlton is a helluva lot like old Carlton. |

That went well. Murdered through the middle of the ground. World record marks inside fifty to the opposition. We get the football inside the opposition fifty and the commentators calls nobody in front of the ball carrier. Has to try and handball, turnover, mark inside 50. Players like Buckley and Boekhurss are not made for games where nobody wants to run with the football or aren't allowed to. They are fast and want to carry it but as soon as they get it if and when they get it) they have to stop because there isn't anybody running in support. Bolton said we would play daring footy. We actually did for a while and for a few last quarters when the games were already lost. St Kilda played daring footy. They ran the ball through a vacant midfield time and again and kicked to a forward line where the players didn't get in each other's way. We persist with the kick it long to Kernahan game plan and get 7 marks inside 50 for the entire game, two of which were 20 metres out and both missed. We need midfielders and more midfielders. The forwards will have to wait. A good midfield can make ordinary forwards look better if the structure is in place. We have Silvagni, who will be a player, Curnow, who will be a player, McKay who might be a player and not much else. If those three plus a smart couple of small forwards, maybe even Murphy get service from a decent midfield we may be able to kick winning scores but this 50-60 points a game is not getting us anywhere. Pros Thanks to 1AW for a stellar effort over the journey. Thanks to Kade Simpson for showing us what somebody who gives a stuff can do in a losing team. Thanks to Zac Touhy for showing the entire team how to kick the football. The rest are cons. |

When your hot your hot, when your not, well .... On the bright side the team will go into the pre-season under no illusions whatsoever. This is a good thing, and I think people need to realise we finished on the bottom of the ladder last year for a reason. Bolts is under no illusions, as he has repeatedly said over and over where we are at. It must be hard in the one sense, wanting to build confidence in the side when they win, but at the same time keeping one's feet firmly planted in reality. Its going to be a hard slog coming from wooden spooner's to competing in finals, but if we stick to the process, recruit well, and build a squad from the ground up (which we've finally agree to as a club) we'll get there eventually. GO BLUES!!!!!! |

We didn't dump Betts and Garlett because we're racist, we dumped them because our coach was a moronic cauliflower! |

Carlton FC @CarltonFC 37s37 seconds ago Bolton: We looked a little tired and sluggish today on the back of a tough month. #AFLBluesSaints Bolton: The Saints had around 132 marks. Defensively we weren't anywhere near as good as we've been this season. #AFLBluesSaints Bolton: @Walkytalky1 has been a great servant. I think in time he'll be known as a trailblazer for our club. #Thanks1AW Bolton: A win is never as good as it seems, and a loss is never as bad as it seems. We need to understand that. #AFLBluesSaints (a few on TC need to think about this one) Bolton: Kerridge and Curnow did an OK job on Jack Steven. We'll keep rotating players in that negating role. #AFLBluesSaints Bolton: We've got areas across our list that we want to improve. We'll continue to build depth, but it will take time. #AFLBluesSaints |
