First off I want to point out some of the bad which most people know already. In this game and the last two before it, we were terrible in the first half. We can't keep relying on miracle comebacks to get us over the line and yes Essendon* being stripped of their finals place did gift us a spot in the finals.

Now for the good points. Firstly it was great to see Murphy have another good game as captain. Second, Chris Judd showed all the people that had written him off as being too old that he still has some of the magic and class that has made him one of the all time greats. Thirdly, it was good to see Gibbs who has been under pressure as an underachiever have another great game. Fourthly, two of the three amigos in Betts and Garlett stood up today, which they needed to in order to justify their places in the side. Fifthly, it was good to see that when some of our regular good performers didn't play so great that others stood up. Warnock for example had a good game in the ruck which made up for Kreuzer's quiet day. I don't want to go on, but sixthly it was good to see us overcome the clearly lopsided umpiring, especially in the second quarter when the maggots gifted Richmond three goals from questionable if not outrightly soft and wrong 50m penalties.

The dream is alive still and I will be the first to have doubts and a lack of faith coming into the games in the last few weeks given our poor performances against lesser teams. I will always be a passionate and proud one-eyed blue supporter and I will always hold the belief that on any given day we can beat any side. We are the Navy Blues and we have a proud tradition, which this side needs to live up to and as the hashtag says BELIEVE!

I don't hate Richmond... that rivalry existed before I could walk

I think that Duigan's performance was fantastic. He kicked 4.0 and set two up. Casboult would have marked a few, yes but he would have kicked 0.4 and a few out on the full. Straight kicking is great kicking.

Judd's goal was fantastic- but I must admit I lost my shit when Jeffy stole the ball and ran in to the open goal.

I gave it to the tool sitting behind me who was smoking a cigar at half time and telling me not to get so upset (I was  ) - but when i told him not to get too upset after Jeff's goal (he was  ) he didn't like it

So did I Agro. I was home watching by myself. Pretty sure there may have been a tear in the eye too.

Can't remove this game from the DVR. Very bittersweet....

There was jackets and scarves involved as we waved Jeff in, the half time cigar smoker was not happy.

He went next level. On the phone to his wife at half time discussing the logistics of getting to Sydney the next week.

I had the most fantastic day ever. This feral mole was giving it to me across the bay all day. When we got within 3 goals i got up and gave her the shhh motion, she didn't appreciate it. Richmong kicked the next goal and she was up and about again. The rest of the game is blissful history. She and her male feral left about the same time as Jeffy stole the ball and I lead a chorus of 'We are the Navy Blues'.
