There is no current grandfather-grandson rule.

Should there be one?

Especially after considering this article from Emma Quayle.

Didn't worry Essendon* or James Hird none - they manipulated things to ensure that James got to Essendon*.

Other than the imminent Silvagni relationship, the only other one we have is the McLeans.

Note of course Marc Murphy's dad and granddad were fantastic footballers albeit at other clubs.

Forget grandfather-grandson we should just make sure the mother-son rule is drfted to work in reverse - Granny Kerr sounds just what we need, tough and tenacious.

His dad and uncles played about 200 reserve games for Carlton that has to count for something.

His grandmother is our number one female ticketholder I think. That should count for something.

I agree.

The AFL has bent over backwards for Geelong with allowing all those late draft picks for their father-son picks. Scarlett, Hawkins etc...and then working out it was a loophole five years after Geelong started winning flags.

It would be nice to see them do something for a "traditional club" even if they are at the same time funnelling millions and millions of dollars up to the Brisbane Lions, GWS etc....and giving GWS prime access to the Riverina.

What about a grandfather-grandson rule? It would be work the same way as father son rule.

If we want this to happen we need to work at it.

Lobby Mark Evans, put in a submission etc
