Given the reality check coming out of the saints game, would love to see us spend some time experimenting with the likes of Buckley, Docherty, Byrne, touhy in the guts. Nothing to lose. |

This is the biggest hole in our list by far, should be the draft/trade focus for the next 2 years |

Still good long term planning to draft the key position players first then focus on midfielders. |

We've recruited the right players - no problem with the potential of the talls and their flexibility. Need same flexibility from our HBF's - add to midfield depth while we build. |

I wouldn't be making decisions on today, StKilda were on drugs. I'd be going highest ranked available player this year in the draft rather than positional needs. |

Nothing to lose. Docherty for sure. Free agency is a place where we can find some quality. Who comes off contract at the end of.next year Sent from my F1f using Tapatalk |

Desperately need a midfield rotation. 2 big mids and some outside speed. |

St Kilda ran Hawthorn and North Melbourne very close. Ross, Armitage, Steven, Montagna, Hickey with Acres/Gresham/Newnes is a decent midfield core especially against Kreuzer/Gorringe. |

If you want to be competitive earlier get mids now. Thought the backline was pretty good considering they got no help all day. Forwards, apart from Cas, were not competitive. Good mids hide a lot of problems. We are 2 short, minimum. |

Our centre clearances are dependent on Cripps and Murphy. 1 is not available at the moment. We lack structure and any semblance of setup. Curnow got beaten today, Cripps was again double teamed and controlled, while Kruezer embarrassed in the art of tap work. Our midfield coach, yes I know it's Barker but he has a lot to answer right now. |

We were one midfielder down Graham should have played in Murphys absence. As much as I like Bryne he is a HBF We lost a midfielder and replaced with Backman |

It's good long term planning to get the best players to the club regardless of what position they play. It should be clear by now what kind of magical thinking the club comes up with (in evaluating potential draftees) when they think they need the kids to slot right in to the senior side to plug holes. It's something like 1 success (Cripps) and about 50 failures. |

Yep, still need more class all over the ground, then we can start looking at the balance when we think we've addressed the depth. |

It was glaring that we were a tired group today in the midfield. I'm sure we will focus on adding one or two more next off-season. |

Nothing to lose. Bizarre post; you're looking at a midfield that has exhausted itself to get to this point, notably Kreuzer, Kerridge, Cripps, Curnow, Gibbs, Wright, Simpson and Thomas. Today you see what happens if you shrink the midfield pool too much by selecting four talls at either end and run low on rotation options for too many consecutive games. Then, they compound things by rolling the dice at the stoppages. I don't blame Matty K for today, he is basically marking time until the bye so his body can recover. Levi and Gorringe are the same; Everitt ran both ways as much as he could. The leeway given to Walker and Jones from a work-rate perspective has cost us in combination with being 2 or more down on the bench a few weeks running. Thankfully everyone is learning from the experience it provides in a year we're not really expected to make finals. |

Common Jimmae enough with the Everrit 2 way running.....he was a liability today and that is now 2 weeks in a row, again! |
