15 new players at the club how do you rank them so far?

1. Kedge - What a move by the club to target and secure a 22 year old mature bodied mid he works as hard as he can every game out, playing hurt at the moment will give us many great years of strong contested footy

2. M. Wright - Has been instrumental in giving us forward pressure, poise and experience another great pick up works really hard

3. Plowman - Ranking him this highly because he has slotted into our backline seamlessly and is clearly a blue chip talent as his selection 3
in the draft suggested he was. Plays small plays tall courageous runs and carries good strong long kick 60 metre defender

4 Lamb - Slick, clever, talented played his role every game out and holds his ground and uses his body really well

5. Weitering - May have been number 1 if not for his injury. Can we sign him for 10? Will be good to get him back Plowman and Weitering will stand side by side for many years to come

6. Sumner - Worked his way in, i liked him at GWS he worked hard and always put himself in a position to win the footy, was ravaged by injury this kid is blue chip and we have not even gone close to seeing the best of him

7. Phillips - Impressive big step up from Wood as second ruck will become a big piece to plugging the Levi injury

8. Charlie Curnow - Such a shame he got sick, his performance against Freo was very good, could be a mid and is a huge kid with long gangly arms with freaky skill.. Could easily be a Bomp type.

The rest havent played seniors yet but from what i've seen in the 2's

9. Cunningham
10. JGM
11. SOS
12. Galluci
13. Gorringe
14. Mckay*
15. Korcheck

In terms of impact so far this year I'd have Wright at the top of the list.

The club hasn't had the opportunity anyway, given all the injuries, but it seems they've made a decision that they don't want to just automatically blood the young players and use a sink or swim mentality, they actually want to make them earn a call up. In order to do that we needed to improve our depth and find recruits that would slot in ahead of the young guys and make them work extremely hard to steal their spot. Wright fits the bill perfectly and has been contributing in every game. He's the type of guy a Cuningham or Viojo-Rainbow should be looking at and working hard to overtake him and get his spot in the 22.

Kerridge has also been a big contributor. It's been brought up on this site by plenty of others, but he needs to work on his ball handling in traffic. At this stage he's too fumbley to take the next step to becoming a bona fide midfield lock for the next decade.

Lamb's probably another depth type. He's playing really well at the moment and is a crafty player. He lacks a bit of speed for his size and because of that limitation I think he'll be another that could be bypassed as we bring in more draftees with talent.

I'd have those 3 as the top 3 so far this year though.

I think of the ones we've seen so far, Weitering, Plowman and Curnow are the ones that will have the biggest impact on the future of this club though.

1. Weitering
2. Kerridge
3. Wright
4. Curnow
5. Plowman
6. Philips
7. Lamb
8. Sumner
9. McKay for the pressure he is putting on all forwards. He's got his eye on a Forward role and he's damn good!
10. SOS for making an impact greater than anyone would have believed this time last year. Keeper. Class. Gpal kicker. Thoroughbred.

SOS ahead of Phillips?

Seems about right.

I've been impressed with Plowman & Sumner's output so far, considering how interrupted their pre-seasons were. If they can have a decent injury free run over the next few years, I wonder how far they can go?

Weitering exceeded my expectations before injury. He is already our #1 defender.

Kerridge has been a very good pick up. If he can become a one touch player, he'll be a gun.

Wright & Lamb are solid citizens who have exceeded my expectations so far.

Phillips was showing steady improvement before injury.

C Curnow & SOJ - plenty of green shoots.

Cunningham & JGM - some green shoots.

Reserving judgement on McKay (due to injury), Gallucci, Gorringe & Korcheck.

8 games into a 66 game rebuild and the class of '15 is looking promising...

Not sure either one really played much more than a half when used.

In my eyes Kerridge has been the most disappointing this season. Not because he's been actually bad (he's giving 100%, deserves his place), but because he promised so much more during the preseason. Looks a different player.

OP says he's playing hurt, is that confirmed? Because he looks like he has a sore back or something. Really struggling below his knees.

I really rate Sumner.

He has massive upside and seems to be a highly dependable, pure footballer.

I'd have him above Lamb, he'll certainly be on our list for longer.

I like Sumner too, just needs to get a bit more of the pill.

Sumner is much faster & smarter than I thought ... he's a great pickup.

I'm keen to see if Gallucci can get called up. in the magoos he seems quick & agile and we're screaming out for a small forward who can mop up the contests and create defensive pressure.

I am loving kertidge, super fit, 100% effort, good mark, good kick. Needs to be cleaner, but sets a great example. How many great last qtr tackles has he laid.

Kerridge seems more suited to an outside role, he doesnt have the skills and awareness to be fully effective as an inside mid. I suspect his bags of goals against nth for adelaide were partly due to him not being rated and being given some leeway.

Agree, but I'd add he didn't have full fitness when selected. Now that he's had 5 weeks in the 1's Id like to think he approaching match fitness and we'll start to see the avge disposals pick up a little bit.

I don't think he will be fully firing until after a few injury free preseasons.
