Have you watched Wood in the VFL this year? He's being easily beaten by VFL ruck men. He's nowhere near AFL level. As is Philips yet.
As I've said before, it has to be Kruezer and Casboult. Use the extra spot on a runner like Byrne.

I think once Byrne gets in, that's it. He's there to stay.

Swans are small ground specialists. They back their team mates at 50/50 situations.

They are found wanting when it is open.

We looked ragged at times, but seemed to get our systems back and launch off half back. Good sign that the players have bought in.

Negatives- casbolt and rowe will be lucky to hold their places. Our midfield either fires or it doesn't. I think the likes of Gibbs are still waiting for Juddy to step out there. Jamo is about done. Lack of ability to win most 50/50 contests. Everett- a vanilla footballer.

Positives-belief in the systems. Weitering. Curnow showed some physicality. Daisy seemed the only one who enjoyed the tightness of the contest from the swans.

Could someone please tell me why we persist with the huddle at CHF at each centre bounce?
It does. not work

As soon as Weitering went forward in the last qt, he went deep with Curnow, and it actually spread the Swans defence and gave our mids multiple options to look at when going forward.
Weitering was actually instructing all the other forwards how to set up which is amazing for a 2nd gamer.

It's just a shame our awesome depth is keeping him out at the moment

In: Walker Byrne Buckley
Out: Phillips Lamb Everitt

Rowe to FF for the rest of year
Walker plays 3rd tall, lead up
Casboult to ruck and follow...cannot play the forward role for shite

Tippets a good footballer, no problem with him playing well but.......Sinclair is an absolute @#$%&! shit truck, absolutely pissed we made him look like a Brownlow @#$%&! medallist

He wins the Moran medal this week

I dare say that Sinclair will be rated one of the elite ruckmen of the comp by the end of the year. He was very impressive.

Jeez their rucks murdered ours. Can't remember Krueze having ever lowered his colours quite like that. In saying that he wasn't as bad as Philips, who was totally outclassed.

Docherty Thomas Weitering Wright the positives.

Too much old Carlton and not enough new Carlton today for my liking.

Entire midfield got absolutely belted. Outnumbered and outclassed us at the contest time and time again. We won't go far if we leave Cripps one out to do the dirty work all the time.

Unfortunately we have too many players, including our senior and better ones, that just butcher the ball. Some horrendous turnovers today.

Fully acknowledge where we are at but not enough shoots for me today.

Going to be a very long year
Smashed out of centre A truly impotent forward line coupled with ordinary disposal all over the ground

Pluses Weitering Charlie Curnow cripps
Kerridge wright ed Curnow good

Need to get more young talent in the side
Need another tall forward option not a lumbering ruckman

Like Kerridge, a lot.

Was part of our midfield that got outmuscled and outworked by the opposition today. But I agree, he's been pretty good value, and will continue to be. The fact that he can regularly hit the scoreboard is huge for us given our forward line woes.

Glad to see everyone's coming around re: Phillips and Lamb.

I've got more time for Lamb than I do for Phillips though, just not right now because he's a high half-forward type and we have developing players who will do more for us there until they're ready for other roles (C.Curnow, Boekhorst, Buckley).

Byrne must feel like Buckley did this time last year.

Gibbs used to wait around until Judd turned up.
Now, he waits around until Cripps turns up...lazy boy

Simmo is playing on past glory...his endless clangers were awful

Everett...Everett...Everett...
