Sorry for the old thread….

but i can’t find another to post in…!

now that the redevelopment is nearly done…
i have a question for the club…!

our new training box…the big blue one we see on
the TV….ummm…look…i love what they’ve done with it…
it’s blue for starters…and big…we love big…!

but…well…why is our insignia…(first of all)…so small…
and why is it over on the right in such a peculiar position…?

i mean…is there going to be more writing on there…?

and if so…why the &#@$ isn’t it done…?

i would’ve not only put it in the middle of said big blue box….
or BBB if you like…but i would’ve DOUBLED the size…!

what…did we run out of money….?

i feel if they’ve got this so wrong…what else have they &#@$ed up…!

i don’t get it…i don’t like it…and i don’t get it…!

please sort it out CFC…it doesn’t make ANY sense…!

kindest regards tommi

i know a painter if you like…he’s Serbian…so two slabs and
a litre of plumb brandy will do it…!

per day that is…!

Glad you mentioned this

I say the same everytime I see a game played at Ikon.

Font size is too small for this HUGE Navy Blue Wall

I dunno… I reckon the big navy wall is kind of imposing.

The insignia in the corner has a bit of class about it.

They built the cauliflower in a strange spot though, I’ll give you that.

There ya go….

we all have different views on it…!

i get the imposing bit though…tis that…!

kindest regards tommi

There’s a few things about that building that are below par but that’s one of the things they got right as far as I’m concerned.

The major CFC over the entrance would be diminished as the entry point of the building if they’d replicated that on the long blue panel.

The whole thing isn’t profound architecture by any means (it’s more a Venturi duck and decorated shed scenario) but it’s actually a pretty good outcome for the club for $19 million.

Hard to build a backyard pool for those sort of dollars these days.

Ok….

interesting…i haven’t seen the front Gee…not
sure about the size there…!

is it an OCD thing I’m experiencing i wonder…?

i still don’t like it…!

as for the design…it’s a bit meh to me…just like the
shallow stands…meh…!

i like the gap on the wing though…the park and the city
views are lovely…!

kindest regards tommi

Anyhow , as far as I'm concerned its a Government sanctioned / funded vandalism at its worst . A hideous monstrosity . Geez , the Toyota factory at Altona looks better .

AR’s budget would have to take a bit of a haircut, but we could put the cameras on the other side of the ground.

They’d be mad to cover the wall with advertising, which is the whole point of having cameras there, so solve two problems.

Not the government’s fault. The club owns this.

But I don’t disagree Mick.

The Heatley was our heritage.

If they’d had half a clue they would’ve knocked over the bastard child of John Elliott and Justin Madden.

The blue shed reminds me of a carlton tie previously for sale. Navy and white with a tiny (nick dal santo tiny) cfc monogram at the bottom.

Ok.

Might be my memory.

Happy to be corrected.

I thought it was you who told me he was involved.

Sorry - it was late and I was thinking Legends Stand and not the demolition of the Heatley. Technically - it was more City of Melbourne Planning, but when they hit 'roadblocks' in the conference room, they requested Ministerial intervention and Justin may or may not have 'fast-tracked' and 'smoothed' things over with the powers that be at Town Hall. But he was keen to please everyone and it's likely he signed more autographs in his first 12 months as Planning Minister than during his testimonial year of 1996.

If they absolutely positively had to demolish a grandstand, the Gardiner stand would have been my choice not the Heatley. Heritage overlay or not.
Having said that, I was at a club function for 50 year members 6 or 7 weeks ago, and what was mentioned by the guy in charge of the redevelopment, was the next ''big'' project would be
restoration of the Gardiner Stand. So there ya go............

Looking forward to it. But I'm a little sceptical.

Nah , can't be grog Tom coz the bloke was an avid tea drinker . Liked nothing more than a good cup of tea ........................ your not one of those snobbish Sydney art critics are you Tom ? those arseholes looked down there nose at one of Australia's great original thinkers . They regarded him as hick from outback Broken Hill .If Pro had of up stumped from Broken Hill and moved to Sydney they would have fawned all over him the narrow shallow two bob arseholes they are . Those maggots have destroyed plenty of fine talents this country has produced . Same as the people running the music industry in this country . Just ask Keogh about those germs .

Of course Tom . I know you are having fun . So am i ....................... shit , i hope i didn't offend you with my outburst coz it certainly wasn't directed at you . No way Tom , you are the life of the party around here .

On the more important subject of footy i am surprised you are a tad nervous about the upcoming season . Don't worry mate , i reckon it will be last year in reverse . We will start off shaky and come home like a Train . Reckon our hierarchy are playing it cagey in that they are trying to dimn the expectations . Got a gut feeling they have the injury situation in control but are not letting on . That Cook bloke is a gun operator . He's got it sorted a lot better than what it seems .
