How can it be a spectator's venue in the future when they keep pulling down grandstands? Notice how in this article they don't tell you what stand they are pulling down...it just appears like a magic mushroom! varooom! built!
What happens if they want to attract 20,000 punters to a match? Sorry we have a gymnasium where there once was a grandstand.

What a waste of money.

Build your AFLW or WAFL or whatever it is somewhere on the outside of the ground. Isn't there parkland or some of the car park area they could use and then build an underground car park? I don't get the logic, but by this time...whatever.

But at least it makes politicians and bureaucrats feel happy. Look at all their smiling faces in the photos.

At least they are beaming with self-importance. Politicians doing what politicians do with the aid of people who are paid a lot of money to make poor decisions.

They are happy, so we're happy.

I'm not sure how demolishing grandstands equates to redevelopment.

Like what MLG has done on the finance side of the business - debt reduction, etc.
Have to say, there is some smoke and mirrors regarding this announcement however, as I can't see how a stadium that cannot house 25k+ supporters cab be called a home for AFLW. The AFL will not hesitate to move games to Marvel asap!!!!

I agree Surrey. It's just nasty - a plan to stop us playing home games at our spiritual home ground. Man, still can't believe George W Bush got inaugurated for his second term only a week ago. Time flies.

You my friend spend too much time looking back and not the future.

I think you’ll find it’s actually smoke and shadows behind the window

Sorry for the old thread….

but i can’t find another to post in…!

now that the redevelopment is nearly done…
i have a question for the club…!

our new training box…the big blue one we see on
the TV….ummm…look…i love what they’ve done with it…
it’s blue for starters…and big…we love big…!

but…well…why is our insignia…(first of all)…so small…
and why is it over on the right in such a peculiar position…?

i mean…is there going to be more writing on there…?

and if so…why the &#@$ isn’t it done…?

i would’ve not only put it in the middle of said big blue box….
or BBB if you like…but i would’ve DOUBLED the size…!

what…did we run out of money….?

i feel if they’ve got this so wrong…what else have they &#@$ed up…!

i don’t get it…i don’t like it…and i don’t get it…!

please sort it out CFC…it doesn’t make ANY sense…!

kindest regards tommi

i know a painter if you like…he’s Serbian…so two slabs and
a litre of plumb brandy will do it…!

per day that is…!

Glad you mentioned this

I say the same everytime I see a game played at Ikon.

Font size is too small for this HUGE Navy Blue Wall

I dunno… I reckon the big navy wall is kind of imposing.

The insignia in the corner has a bit of class about it.

They built the cauliflower in a strange spot though, I’ll give you that.

The last few posts have probably been flagged by ASIO as suspicious given all the painting talk. They're probably just waiting for a "I also do my own carpentry" response...

Plasterers are a target rich environment for the guv’mint. I was on a commercial site a while back (white collar shit kicker just there for a meeting), and the bloke I was meeting was running a gang of Filipinos.

I turned up in the business clobber, grabbed a clipboard & my PPE out of the boot & went inside. Bloke was pissing himself laughing… “have a look at this”, he says & walks me around to where the services would be installed. He grabs a cordless drill & starts taking off the sheets of plaster that comprised a wall that didn’t exist on the plans.

Wouldn’t you know it, out peeled about half a dozen labourers.

“Happens every time”, he says. “I forgot you were coming.”
