Hopefully numerous players in this bracket stand up this year but most importantly I hope we just get games into them. Cripps, Buckley, Jaksch, probably Graham and Byrne should play pretty much whenever fit. If only to ensure they build their experience. I rate Byrne highly.

It is an important year for Tutt, Whiley, Dick, Boekhurst, Sheehan, Viojo-Rainbow and Gowers. They want to be playing regular senior footy (particularly the first three) if they are to be retained. Sheehan is already 25 and whilst he looked good when first played has struggled with injury. Blaine showed some tricks but SOS will likely have no sentiment for speculative Rogers selections. I thought he looked alright at times last year but his lack of AFL fitness was telling. He would want to improve this a lot.

I expect that Wood, Armfield, Rowe and maybe Jones (has two years?) are on borrowed time. That said, I hope Bolts gives Jones his chance. He may benefit from a better forward set up. Rowe may be a leader but our recruitment of so many talls says SOS doesn't rate what we've got.

Of the newcomers, I hope Plowman, Sumner, Lamb, Kerridge, Galluci and at least one of Phillips/Gorringe step up and show they are worthy of senior footy.

Great question Ando! Thought provoking stuff.

Leaving aside Cripps (already had his breakout year), I think the best bets are Boekhorst and Jacksch.

Of the rest, I think Kerridge will play regularly and Plowman too (injuries permitting).

I'm going to keep an eye on Phillips because I think he will get some chances.

It seems the club think Sumner is the best recruit if he gets his foot right. See Cameron Giles I reckon. Graham had a good part of a season, but I'm not sure he has the weapons to keep it up. Lamb I reckon we were just doing GWS a favour in picking up the contract. Buckley could go ok. Don't see much in Smith or the Irish blokes (I know plenty disagree).

So I see two possibly having a breakout and two possibly becoming regular senior players. Jury very much out on the rest of them.

Graham showed something post Malthouse but I still see him as good depth player but no real weapons. He can get the ball, but Cripps and I'm guessing Gibbs will be doing that whilst they are fit.

Byrne reminded me....just the way he moved....Motley. Seriously. Only 1 quarter of play but.....I'm expecting him to have a break out year despite the fact Sheehan was thought of as being more advanced.

Expecting a big year from Boekhurst.

Big things expected from Plowman and Sumner.

I know he's played more than 100 games but he hasnt had a breakout year for the Blues...but I'm expecting Thomas to have his for the Blues.

Seriously - I thought I was the only one who saw that. Didn't want to say anything because people would say how stupid!! But he does!

To promote artificial differences and create strata, just like in society

I am hoping Graeme stays injury free and has a good year, he showed signs last year before the foot injury.

The GWS 4 are all looking pretty good at this stage.

Byrne and Weitering.
