we better not cop hawthorn twice in the H&A season again.

i think bottom 6 teams only have 1 return fixture against a top 8 team.

make it richmond.

I think we'll get Richmond, Essendon* and Collingwood twice each. The other 2 teams we'll play twice will be 1 from the bottom 6 and one from the top 6.

its a no brainer , the wooden spooner shouldn't play the premier twice !

but nothing is a no brainer with the morons at the AFL so you never know..

Hopefully we get two bottom 6 teams twice like the model is meant to be - I mean, we did finish last.

My guess is that Essendon* will be one of the bottom 6 teams we'll get, while pies and tigers will be the 2 from the Middle 6.

Probably right - but really, if we finished last, we really should get return fixtures against 2 bottom 6 teams. We didn't play Tiges twice in 2014 so maybe we won't again.

So if the game is being played in Launceston will this be the AFL's first Metropolitan themed blockbuster to celebrate the contribution of cities to the game? They could have hipster cafes and art galleries set up outside the ground

Only once next year.

Bottom 6 teams only have to play the top 6 teams twice once or not at all.
My guess we will play the following twice;
Collingwood, Essendon*, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Port.

Port twice would be a disaster given they are probably going to jump up the ladder considerably. Give me teams on the slide.

I thought it was a 2-2-1 split. 2 bottom 6 teams twice, 2 Middle 6 teams twice, 1 top 6 team twice. Hence I'm thinking its *insert bottom 6 team, Essendon*, Collingwood, Richmond, *insert top 6 team.

Quote:
Under the new model, the AFL ladder will be bracketed into three groups of six – simply 1-6, 7-12 and 13-18. To determine the five return or "double-up" fixtures for each club, a few straightforward restrictions are in place. Teams will be limited to a minimum of two and a maximum of three "double up" games against clubs in the same third of the ladder.

So at a minimum we should get 2 bottom 6 return fixtures. Max 3 - and given we came last - we really should get it.

Quote:
More interesting was the restriction that teams will be limited to no more than one return game against a team in the bracket at the "opposite" end of the ladder.

So maximum one return fixtures against top 6 teams is possible - i.e. this year was Hawthorn.

If we get 3 return fixtures vs bottom 6 teams - we shouldn't get any return fixtures against top 6 teams.

I think we'll get 2 bottom 6 teams (one being Essendon*) & 1 middle 6 (richmond or collingwood)

It would be really wrong if we copped Richmond & Collingwood twice (both middle 6 teams) simply because of the rivalries.
