Toranasaurus wrote: The culmination of 15 years of complete ineptitude. That's it really. This has to be a complete reset. I barely hung in as a member this year. I'm glad I did, but we can't afford any more stumbles. And that Board, with Gleeson still on it among others, who's overseen two spoons now, is mind boggling. |

Annus Horribulus. I have supported Carlton since 78 and 2015 was the low point. The round 2 "everyone is tradeable" was an adminastrative brain fade of the highest order and then our club leaders started to redeem themselves However, I truly believe we have hit the bottom of the J curve and have embraced modern AFL Proper List management Process for selection of a coach Even selflessness of Germinder, Fahour resignations We need 5 years of patience and hopefully impatience does not force us to implode. We will get there. |

Negatives - the spoon - there's simply no good way to spin it. - The coaching explosion - The lack of leadership/competitiveness / spirit /mojo - Hendo walking out, Yarran checking out, Kreuzer giving up - no more Judd - the Jones and Tutt deals - Record losing margin - Andy McKay - the look on Carrazzo 's face after the final siren Positives - A proper recruitment process for coach - SOS - Cripps - Bell, Buckley, - the hovercraft - a smaller board |

I know people are stoked Essendon* are finished, and Collingwood got nowhere, but for me, when you have teams like Essendon*, Collingwood and Carlton failing to make finals, the GAME itself blows. Year in review? How the AFL has systematically ruined this once great game? I for one cannot wait to watch Freo v Westcoast play off in a grand final ... And I certainly cant wait for the upcoming grand finals of GWS v Suns ... Another Brisbane era should be awesome ... Does anyone remember the Richmond v Carlton final? Anyone remember the spine tingling ROAR of the crowd that day? THAT'S FOOTBALL!!! Collingwood out, Essendon* out and Carlton with another spoon? Does anyone see something horribly wrong with this picture? The AFL might think national expansion is the best thing since sliced bread, but when I see teams like Collingwood, Essendon* and Carlton going nowhere fast, I see the game going nowhere faster. 2015 for me is another example of how this once great game is being slowly destroyed by the AFL. Interstate grand finals have ZERO importance in my home and will not be watched PERIOD! What do I give a sh*t about GWS, Freo, Sydney, Port, Westcoast and so on? You want to see a spectacle that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end? Collingwood v Carlton grand final. Essendon* v Carlton grand final. 100,000+ mental supporters inside the MCG with the entire world hanging on the outcome. THAT'S FOOTBALL!!!!! What is called football today, hell I don't know what to call it, but it ain't a camels butt hole on what I remember football to be. The AFL can try as they might to promote and sensationalise the game all they can, grand final parade through the middle of town with GWS v Sun's players in the cars? HUH? what a joke! I'm lucky enough to remember those parades when it was Collingwood v Carlton and believe me, the parades leading up to the big day were magical. 2015 another crap year were football takes a step closer to nothingness ... |

The Good New Coach Cripps Graham before his injury Buckley's improvement The OK Touhy seem to get back some form Murphy's solid form Seeing Walker play forward again Boekhorst showing signs Casboult's goalkicking improvement Kruezer stringing games together The failure of the Pies, Dons and now hopefully Tiges and Hawks The bad Thomas shoulder Rd.1 - Betts dominance Our injury management (just from the outside seems awful) The gameplan Our skills Henderson Yarran Jones Tutt The two Irish boys struggling to get on the park The Horrible Mick Malthouse The Friday night beltings Not a single memorable victory The record loss Wooden Spoon The Round Two Rebuild Judd's Knee - Kennedy's Coleman Thanks Ellard and Carrazzo. So it was the AFL that made Essendon* hire Hird and then the whole drug saga? It was the AFL that told Carlton to trade for Brock, for Warnock, for Watson, Lucas, Mitchell McCarthy Mcinnes Jones, Tutt (just to name some)? To throw away draft picks like discarded paper at a ticker-tape parade? To always want what others have and never think about developing what we have got? To waste money, to waste talent, to waste years? Truth is Essendon* and Carlton are 2 shit clubs. Has Carlton finally begin to turn it around? We'll know in about three years I think. Will we finally draft and then develop? Have we finally found a modern coach? I know the AFL have done some crap things but compared to this club of ours they are the smartest, most well run sporting organization in the world. |
