There would be no Fevola
There would be no Houlihan
There would be no Teague
Whitnall would have been flogged off and now biting us on the arse
Lappin would still be playing HF
McGrath Chambers Scotland elsewhere
Wiggins would be seen as a hack rather than a Hickmott replacement
Instead of Bannister and Sporn stopping opposition stars and being creative whilst doing it, we would be stuck with Franchina .

Forget about tactics and training, Pagans greatest strength is the ability to see what we needed and what we had. Then in 2 seasons go out and get it despite the restrictions placed by a vindictive AFL.

If he can improve our list so much in the last 2 years, what is he going to able to do going forward? One thing is for sure, never again will we be allowed to rest on our recruitment laurels. Pagans emphasis on pace and toughness will always result in us being super competitive starting NOW.

Thanks Denis, we now have a team of youngsters without a Dud amongst them (well maybe one). I look forward to seeing them mature into premiership winning material that will make us proud.

Nice post Nubster. Shane O'sullivan perhaps needs a pat on the back as well as some of his selection are having a solid impact on the resurgence of the Blues.

T-Bird
Sporny
Wiggo
Houls
Fev
Waite
Prender

Those that are just starting to show that they can make it if they apply themselves to the task.

Livo
Davies
Carraz
Simmo
Karl
Walks

Thats half of Saturdays team.

Regards Cazzesman

Jimmy Plunkett would still be our first choice rover

Waite? I think we can thank Vin for him.

A lot of those were actually rookies and overlooked by Shane in the draft.

Yes we can thank Vin but it was Shane O's choice to take him. Shane or CFC was under no obligation.

Do you mean 2 out of 11 I mentioned ie T-bird and Carraz.

T-Brid was overlooked by all the rest of the recruiters as well, just like Eddie Betts was this year and Carrazz went to the Cats as a rookie.

Am I right in thinking that Prender was a rookie?

Prenda was a rookie.

Fisher could be added as well, at pick 72.

I'm pretty sure he was drafted originally, delisted, then given a second chance on the rookie list.

Anyway, I can't see how it makes a difference which draft the players were picked up in. The decisions were still made by the same people.

If we didn't have Denis we wouldn't have a chance at #17 for another 10 years.

We have a lot to thank Dennis for. I am most grateful that his brother is a family friend! I was at his brother's place for New Years Eve a couple of years ago

When we get a flag, I am going to scam as much as I can from him...(where is the gloating emoticon?)

Former recruiting manager Shane O'Sullivan would have enjoyed Saturday night, too. Like long-serving former football manager Colin Kinnear, he was lucky to survive Collins' arrival. Both remain at Carlton in different roles.
But it was O'Sullivan who assembled the bulk of this group. From Camporeale way back in 1994 to Fevola and Ian Prendergast in '98, Ryan Houlihan (draft pick No. 73 in '99) to Luke Livingston, Justin Davies and Andrew Walker in the past five years.
O'Sullivan deserves to be enjoying the Carlton renaissance as much as anyone.

I have been wrapped for Denis But

and I mean this in the nicest possible way

Denis is only the coach of the greatest AFL club in the land.

I do not want us to become like Sheedysville and think the coach is the b all and end all of this club. He is one bloke. Important and replaceable - that's something Carlton has always understood and must retain!

Our ability (of which Denis has been a huge part) to get back on track,
to put the shite behind us and regroup and reorganize and reenergize has been absolutely amazing!

Yes thank heavens for Denis

But thank heavens for Collo

and Shane O'

and Sticks, glorious Sticks,

and David M

And braveheart Kenny H

and all the others.

This is an absolutely stupendous club.
I thank them all

I am proud of them all, down to the boot studders and back slappers

they have all done everything asked and prayed fgor and wished for in the deepest darkest nights of our turmoil

the ship is turning

its no bloody ocean liner Collo

its a big f-u-cking Navy Blue battle cruiser

and its coming your way!!!!!!
