Brendon Bolton will leave Hawthorn at the end of the week to begin his job with Carlton.

Was just about to come in to say I'd be happy to let him finish his Hawthorn tenure first, but alright!

I would be curious to know who made the final call though, and unlike most I hope that the Hawks had a part in it. Last thing we'd need is to be seen as greedily snatching one of their guys given their current circumstances.

Rumours are we'd held off the announcement due to the circumstances, so would think the club had taken this into account.

Knowing Bolton's integrity, and Clarkson's "soldier down" mantra, you'd be confident all parties were comfortable before announcing. Hawks would been expecting this for a while now.

Bolton is staying to help Damian Carroll transition into the role and will then leave.

I'd be surprised if Trigg and Fox didn't come to a mutual agreement.

Also Clarko is not one to stuff around I reckon so theyre all just getting on with it.

Who gives a toss what was arranged. I couldn't give two hoots if the hawks are upset. If he wants to make the best of his opportunity at CFC, he can't wait until the 2nd week in October to start working at our club.

It's not about the Hawks being upset, it's about perception. Normally I wouldn't care, but given the current circumstances I would be disappointed if the club didn't at least take it into account and allow a little breathing space.

I like that he is on a staff contract. This way we avoid this stupid contract hype all clubs have when the coach gets to his last year.

Impressive stuff.

A little too much corporate speak for me personally but i can see that being handy in such a role.

Blues breaking the mould with no contract.

Trigg did the same (contract wise) in Adelaide with Neil Craig.
