Just on Walls, he has been asked to help out. It is a mentoring role with the coaches and not a paid gig. Just giving something back to his club.

Exactly Woof.................dont like to give my fellow TCer's a spray but for elf's sake calm down.Dont kick a gift horse in the mouth. We are crying out for leadership and stability.I am wrapped that Rob is getting on board................and as far as being past it is concerned, maybe, but the likes of Diesel,Dogga,Sellars and other tough nuts go,they have been sounded out and don't want to put there hands up so welcome aboard Robert Walls.Fantastic in the light of circumstances for mine.

If rumours are true, is he heading back to Hawks to collect the rest of his salary?

Welcome back Wallsy.

Hopefully he will no longer hang crap on us in the media now.

He’s out of the media.

But I thought Tom Browne’s School Days had scared him off?

Apparently it's just a 'voluntary' role, which could just mean he pops in now and then to see how things are going or offer some tips.

I won't devote any energy to it until I see him in the coach's box ala Edelsten.

For those not happy who do you suggest ? Dogga,Diesel,Sellars aint interested. This club had a proud history of former players being involved ( Laurie Kerr,Buggsy Comben,Wes Lofts just to mention a few ) but for some reason they are all steering clear these days.Thank Christ for Chris Judd and now Robert Walls.Wallsy may be past the modern game but at least he is interested unlike others.Bloody good for him.Wellcome back.

Walls will go OK.
He may be past it as a tactician in the modern era but he is a multiple premiership player and coach who loves the club. Some on here say BB will never have the payers because he didn't play at this level. Well Walls did. The players know he has been there.
He will be able to get a few of his mates back to swagger around and spin their yarns.

Some people here are saying that BB is too soft and panders to the players' feelings. Walls won't be so eager to enter a love fest if you're worried about that aspect of it. He will be able to look BB in the eye and tell him if he thinks he is doing OK or not.

Don't forget Walls was with Nick when the '72 GF plan was hatched. He knows what it is like to think outside the box and come up with a plan that suits the people you have. If he can sit with the coaching staff and tweak their brains nothing will be lost.

Too many people are too eager to toss in the towel or criticize everything the club is trying to do over the long haul. FFS give this a look. He's a volunteer. If at any stage it doesn't look like it's going to work out, the can just thank him for his commitment to the club and tell him he's always welcome at PP but his coaching mentor days are over. It's a no-lose situation.

I love Wallsy as a bloke and a commentator but his days are well gone in regard to player management. How would he have accepted someone giving him advice in his day? I went to a coaches conference over 10 years ago and Wallsy was a speaker. He admitted himself that his methods of player management were from a bygone era. And that was over a decade ago!

Bolton would have his own mentors already. If Wallsy is there to offer support etc, great. He'll be good at it and I'm glad to see him involved. If he has any say in how the coaches coach or how players are treated, its a regressive and moronic decision.
We navigated the course through the tough times. Now is not the time to make foolish, antiquated decisions. Especially if they're being driven by some of our benefactors trying to again influence the club.

When you coach a side to its worst season since 1901
You need all the help you can get

I can't see anything wrong with when a situation arises where Bolton may say to Walls ''what do you think''?

BB is then free to cherry pick parts of Wallsy's suggestion. Take on board what he thinks will work, and pass over what he thinks won't.

Robert Walls is not a dumbarse.
