The dilemma Bolts faces is does he strt to introduce a more offensive style or will he have to play a more ultra defensive style now that Gibbs and Docherty won’t be out there to avoid blow outs?

I hope to see us add some more flare to our game style and see more of the boys playing on instinct even if that comes at heavy price.

Before Doc getting injured I had us winning the same amount of games next year as we did this. So I’m not bothered. I’d just like to see some players let of the leash a bit so long as they work hard the other way and give it absolute crack out there

I seem to remember an interview with Murph around this. From memory he said the players were sick of playing defensive and said to Bolts that the players wanted to be let off the leash a bit more, and Bolts agreed which is why we saw a slightly different game style in the last few rounds.

I'd be interested in seeing that interview because it doesn't sound correct to me. If that captain came out with a comment like that in the media, he needs his arse kicked.

Not sure how I feel about this:
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/c ... zqkvl.html

Quote:
Blues football manager Andrew McKay said the young list would benefit from the changes.

"We are firm believers of developing people from within and the appointment of John into his new role is a reflection of his strengths in strategy and people management," McKay said.

Anything with McKay's fingers on it makes me nervous.

Surely McKay’s just the mouthpiece here.

Whoa Sav’s the ruck coach.

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly does a “performance preparation coordinator” do?

He can’t be too important- Bode is the only one who didn’t get a head shot! :donk:

Hey I embedded a YouTube clip to brighten things up, but that avenue of pleasure was closed off.

Sav’s as qualified to be a ruck coach as Teague is to be a forward line coach and Teague has proven himself to be a quality forward coach.

Sav’s probably a better ruck coach than Capuano- and his level of coaching communication is probably enhanced by his time in the NFL system, but I would prefer a specialist ruck coach.

Although having said that we probably don’t need one as Lobbe probably offers a lot of ruck knowledge due to his experience in the AFL system.

Very technical job putting down witches hats.

Pretty sure that’s core within the AFL level 3 coaching accreditation.

Barker can do it for sure.

Sounds more like a pro-article about a good open relationship between Coach and Captain?
