He's wrong. It's Teague.

I really like Teague but can't we have someone who coached a forward line that kicked heaps of goals in a grand final?

Blues wheel out big guns for Rockliff

Collingwood was also keen on Teague but will have to look elsewhere to find another assistant coach.

Former Western Bulldog assistant coach Brett Montgomery could emerge as a candidate for Nathan Buckley’s staff.

Montgomery, who left the Bulldogs on the eve of their stunning finals campaign last year, has coached at Melbourne Grammar this year.

He is highly regarded for his match-day tactics and team defence structures and is keen to rejoin the AFL.

Teague, 36, is widely considered a senior coach in the making and is slated to play a key role helping support Carlton senior coach Brendon Bolton next year.

CARLTON has landed another off-field coup as it builds its coaching team, with Adelaide assistant David Teague returning to the club as forward line coach.

It is understood Teague, who is a highly-regarded assistant and viewed as a senior coach in the making, has signed a three-year deal with the Blues.

The 36-year-old was highly sought after by Melbourne clubs, including Collingwood, after making the decision to return home for family reasons.

Teague has been in charge of Adelaide's powerful forward line for the past three seasons, with the Crows leading the AFL for scoring in 2017.

*********

The Blues face the prospect of losing valuable stoppages coach John Barker to Gold Coast, where he is the favourite to replace Rodney Eade as senior coach.

Very happy about this announcement!

Teaguey was fantastic coach at the bulldogs and by all reports was very respected at West Coast. Adelaide too have gone from strength to strength since his arrival.

Good News!

Wow, how will we replace Barker's input?
