So all those who are claiming that Bolton adjusted the gameplan to make us play better are acknowledging that he is a good coach.

While all those saying he didn’t adjust the gameplan, just that the players executed better are also saying he is a good coach.

Right?

I have no issue with Bolton at all. I'm not 'anti-Bolts'.

If he changed the game plan (which is what it looked like to me), good on him    .

Keep doing whatever he did, I say.

While people have been blaming our players and our recruiters on this very thread, I've been saying there's nothing wrong with our list. We've got many very good players - including our older players - they just need a game plan they understand and yesterday they showed us what they're capable of when they're free to play.

Winning is what I'm after and watching that pitiful exhibition against GC was not football IMO.

Ponder that.
Not blaming him for the loss, just looking at the maths of where we are on the ladder.

Doesn't work that way.

He wasn't.
And we lost.

Because at the end of the day we weren't good enough.

By a smidgen .
But that's all that counts.

The wins and losses and ladder position is the only true indicator.

Forget what ifs.
They're BS.

Don't think the game plan necessarily changed but there was definitely more emphasis on the switch through the centre this week compared to last week, as the possession heat map shows below.

I think there is an error with the heat map for the Bulldogs game. It's the same as the first quarter and is missing a ton of possessions.

I think attacking through the corridor is a lot more viable when you aren't @#$%&! up your passes out of the defensive 50.

I was simply pointing out a mathematical fact and said so quite clearly.

Just like Robbo's drunken slurry assessment of our game...clearly had only watched a few highlights...made it as usual about his group of friends who text him after a win. and that was our lot. 3 games won in how many again? 2 mins of condescension and back to the CATS. Oh GLORIOUS Cats.
Brilliant. :thanks:

When you have got a team full of young / inexperienced players the win loss column probably wouldn't be the sole indicator of performance.

I'm lost. How is that dotted brown line derived? I'm assuming that the vertical column is number of scoring shots. To my eyes it looks like we were going better around the 20-25 mark on the horizontal scale, but the brown line says things are better now even though the "towers" look lower to me.

The dotted line is a polynomial trend line.

Yep, and we're currently tracking at around 8 losses for 1 win.

Two in a row this week. Knocking off the Hawks, however difficult, would be a good psychological step too.

What ever it is - Im pretty sure its not right!

a moving average would move very harshly at the beginning and wouldnt move in such a linear way near the end.

But it is pretty :)

Ever since that period where we won six out of seven and were tenth on the ladder we have struggled. Nine losses after that and also 8 in a row, 8 in a row, 9 in a row and 8 in a row. Those wins are so nicley spread out.
