I'd take a good look at the line coaching at sydney, west coast & richmond or even North, and see who's driving their program.

they move the ball well, play fearlessly, run, tackle and are well drilled to a man. all the things we've fallen behind in this season.

5 first round picks out of the team injured. 4 coming back in the next few weeks. I'm happy to see the blowtorch applied if we continue this trend but I'm expecting significant improvement over the next month.

Big disappointment for me has been development. Go back 3 years and Mathieson and Lo Giudice we’re fired up about fixing not just recruiting but also Development. I have seen no development in the past 3 years beyond Charlie and Fish. I am hoping for a complete either review or clean out of all support staff. Something has to change.

I sat through the worst first half performance of this proud club in my 55 years of following them.

its not development per se...it's who they're surrounded by. Freos youngsters yesterday had quality around them....fyfe, hill, sandi, mundy, neale etc. ours had simpson as the exception in that age group, not much else (of quality)

If your not developed enough to execute at AFL standard then its not going to matter much who you have around you because you will continue to be exposed on turnover. 8 goals yesterday from turnovers due to poor execution. They are not delivering to advantage under pressure or when free in space. The club has been battling with this for 15 years.

I don't care how little Polson has shown at VFL level.

Both he and Cunningham (i know he is currently injured) are hybrid small/mid whatever you want to label them. I am absolutely as certain as I can be that barring injury, if both of them had been played most of the year after the injury toll began to mount, we would be speaking of them in more positive terms. Eg. O'Brien has hardly been starring and people have even questioned his physical intensity. Yet, he's been played regularly and yesterday, it was noticeable that he was more proactive and serviceable.

I doubt LOB met all his KPIs at VFL level before being promoted, yet Polson and Cunningham who we are screaming out for to bolster the 'smalls area have different rules applied to them

In a year where we've had so many injuries, the lack of faith or trust in them to be given NOTHING as far as some continuous exposure at AFL level shits me no end. There is something wrong IMHO about the promotion and demotion policy at the CFC

Yesterday’s presser was the first time Ive been disappointed in Bolts’ words.

Yesterday was inexcusable and Bolts had the perfect opportunity to really put the blowtorch on the players that delivered that performance.

It wasn’t the time to talk green shoots, injuries, “breaking even in the 2nd half”, list turnover or age profile. It wasn’t the day for sugarcoating.

It was the time to make it clear that no matter the context, lack of effort and application is unacceptable. That’s what we saw, it was clear as day. What irked me most was when he said (paraphrased) that these are professionals who don’t go out and “not try”, when we know from our own captain’s words that this does happen.

I’m still on board, but yesterday was not Bolts’ finest hour.

I hear you Bazza, sad to see the faces of the Carlton supporters walking around at half time. No doubt we are really struggling due the players that are out but we struggle to execute the basics. What I really struggle with is the fact we can't hit a target or kick the ball to our advantage under no pressure. VFL teams would have beaten us yesterday. The sad thing is watching the NB's is the same.
