..you'll still cop the occasional pounding, and it will burn.. ....but our rebuild was almost from the ground up, it's less a rebuild and more a 'new team' start up....

He needs a win to save his job. The young playing group look shattered and bereft of confidence which is not surprising. You can only get a good depth of confidence when you get wins. The confidence well as I call it is empty. A win is needed. This presents a challenge to the coach.

I have no doubt Brendon is a top bloke. One you'd be happy to know. He is probably a good footy coach too.
At a lower level !
At the elite level he comes up short of the mark.(no pun intended).
It was a brave decision by the club to appoint him.

But into the 4th year the club is an on field laughing stock. I haven't been deluded enough to fantasize about flags or even finals in recent years. All I've hoped for is the team to be competitive. And it's not.

The club's reputation is being trashed, and young players in particular are having their aspirations trashed.
I don't think I'm a misery guts I'm just being realistic.

But for mine it's time for MLG to tap BB on the shoulder and thank him for his undoubted enthusiastic efforts
and say we are moving him on.

PS
I #@%$& hated writing that.

There are players and coaches who have been there too long. Get rid of the losers and things might change.

Wait! Don't we have a Premiership coach currently sitting in the coaches box? Let's make him coach!

(Just as crazy an idea....surely you jest kingkerna?...Brett Ratten or Brad Scott?? :yikes: )

Surely a minimum of two wins in the next four weeks has to be achieved for the first half of the season to be a success?

If we are 1-13 then Bolton can’t go on. Four years into the rebuild. Wins aren’t an option anymore, they are the only measure of improvement this year.

5-6 wins was a pass mark from me for Bolton to keep his job.

Who'd want to come to the club that kills every coach you can throw at it?

Carlton Blues indeed.

I think it might be a pass mark at other places as well.

Scott is the most one way coach in the league, if he was at Carlton every week would look like yesterday's game.

We need Bolton to find a way for the team to compete with or shut down the opposition like he did in the Collingwood game or find someone else who can.

Yet a week ago I could see a heap. That's the problem.

I’ve been on board but sheesh, my patience is well and truly tried. Where is any semblance of progress?

Most weeks except this week and Norf.

It's almost as though young lists without much cohesion and still developing are inconsistent week to week.

Ever had kids or worked with them?

Let's really analyse which week's have been acceptable.....
Tigers...... Nope, they were down a man, we should been closer
Port......... Nope, had to fight back after a crap start to drop off in the last
Sydney........ Playing terrible footy at the time, a win is the only acceptable result
Gold Coast.......... Simply awful footy
Bulldogs.......... Big tick
North......... Awful against a rubbish team
Pies......... Big tick all things considered

Don't forget Hawthorn... Laid down and died after smashing them in the first half. Another
failure, albeit with great early signs.

Best post I have seen for a while.

IMO we haven't played well in most games.

Sydney and Port games we were bloody awful.

Some close losses but if you didn't play well it means little really.

Again good analysis mate.
