Look I appreciate many people will be unhappy but I think Hendo until this season has been a very good contributor to the club and whilst it is sad to see him go, one can understand his decision. He has experienced next to no success and with us a good 4/5 years away from being successful he has now given us the chance to atleast get the best deal possible.

I much prefer the player being open like this than stringing us along.

The next 2 years are going to be very tough for all of us as I suspect we will get much worse before we get better.

He's become a sperm donor for the club now, and not a lot more.

I'm very sad to see him go and am disappointed the club wasn't able to provide an environment for him to thrive in so that he wanted to stay.

Play out your contract to your best ability or give the money back.

Sorry, I don't feel I owe him my thanks.

He's had a bit to do with a couple of seriously ill friends of mine and he's a genuinely good person.

I think he's a player who should have been a part of the rebuild and the decision to cut him loose is poor, but what do i know.

Very sad to see a person and player of his calibre leave the club.

Hope he lands and finds success at a much better club than ours (Wouldn't be hard as long as he avoids Essendon* or Qld). He deserves it after being at Brisbane and Carlton.

Who's to say the decision not to play was his? Doesn't sound like the club's offered him much choice in anything this year.

The decision was ("officially") made by the leadership group.

Thanks Hendo.
You were one of my favorite players for awhile there.
Im sure youll be a valuable player at your next club ..
And I hope they bring out your best.
Im sad our club did not seem to value you enough for you to stay.
Would have been a fabulous defender for us in the coming years.. all the best.

Probably a nice bloke just simply not good enough to command respect as a big $ footballer. Too timid for his size, poor skill level, although his set-shots improved, but couldn't get his hands on the footy enough inside the 50 to make use of it.

I reckon he's worth about $350 for 2 years. Any more and we would be getting reamed.

I'd prefer a player to a pick.

His heart hasn't been there all year, in a team that needed senior players to stand up and this prick never gave more than 50% on field. Happy to take his paycheck and think about next year.

PRICK

Thanks Hendo.

If we are going to accept a trade Geelongs 1st pick in the draft isn't good enough, if they truely want him make them pay for it.
Please don't get screwed over by them, if they want him to have another crack at a premiership then i want their 1st pick and a decent young player (kolodjashnij, murdoch, gregson, horlin-smith) wihtful thinking I know. On the alternative a straight trade for Mitch Duncan.

Is this thread for real ? Thanking a guy who gave us nothing this year, just sooked all the way through it after being put in the leadership group.

Not prepared to do the hard work as the leader he was meant to be to help us through a tough period.

Instead took the easy way out to join a successful team, assuming its Geelong.

He is soft!! Good luck at your 3rd club lachie. Competent at some things, master of none !!

Time for us to stop being 'Mr nice guy' when it comes to trades.

Play hardball and send him to the psd if clubs try to screw us.

He is one of the reasons why we are on the bottom of the ladder. Time and time again the ball has been kicked his way and he has failed to get off the ground. If you want to be a leader then you need to lead the way. Sook!

The tough thing is that he's not contracted for next year.... I think that I'm right in saying that we'll lose out on this one...

Very disappointing.

Disappointing year, disappointing performance, disappointing ending.

Thanks for the hope you provided... pity you didn't fulfill the expectations.

Can we have Fev back now ?
Goltzenberg will be happy

Sad to see the good Hendo go but certainly not sad to see this year's version leave
