I've been watching Marcus Bontempelli for the last couple of years and been seriously envious that we didn't have anyone coming through with that sort of potential. Clearly Paddy Cripps is a special player. Bontempelli looks like he could be anything. If you could have one or the other (or some other player under 21) who would it be? |

Probably biased because Cripps is ours, but he is just a gun. So strong in the contest and his hands are just sublime. The thing I love about him is that he is a footballer first. Give me a footballer over an athlete any day. The only U21 I'd put up would be Jesse Hogan, who looks like he could be the best forward to come into the game for a long. And we are yet to see Scharenberg who had massive wraps on him around draft time. But right now, more than happy with our boy. |

Ollie Wines comes to mind. 21 in October. But the way Crippa is tracking he might turn out to be more versatile with his height. MaCrea is a ripper. O'Meara just turned 21 and could be anything if his body doesn't fail him. No-one has seen the best of Jack Martin yet. Serious talent. Matthew Scharenberg is yet to be seen but he is exceptional. Darcy Moore will be near on impassable at CHB in years to come so be afraid of him. But at his size with his competitive nature Crippa is pretty hard to toss. I'll keep him ![]() ![]() Regards Cazzesman |

Bontempelli is probably more dynamic and more capable of the spectacular, but Cripps I'd tip will be far more consistent over the course of their careers. |

Actually that Collingwood backline in a few years including....... Frost, Langdon, Moore, Scharenberg and the angry Marley Williams will be a tough group to crack. ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards Cazzesman |

Cripps only plays well on small grounds, he will get found out on MCG as it is too big, he is too tall and slow for a midfielder ![]() |

I think Bontempelli is an awful kick, but Fyfe has shown what can be done with good game sense, some athletic tools and a clean pair of hands despite awful kicking skills. I still think Fyfe is overrated, and I think Bontempelli will be as well. Cripps does a lot of what each of them do, and he can kick. Cazzesman wrote: Ollie Wines comes to mind. 21 in October. That McStay kid for brisbane moves beautifully. Rated as a 196 cm defender but moves a bit like Stephen Hill and a big kick. Wouldnt surprise me to see him getting a more running role. |

Potential to be a great player, but I don't think he'll ever be an elite field kick. |

Don't confuse my thinking he's a shit field kick with the idea of him being a bad player. I haven't sat down enough to watch if it's how he puts pressure on himself or if his ball drop is complete garbage, I'm just saying what I've seen and showing it's not being plucked out of the sky. Long term though, I think he will be like Pavlich: a forward that goes into the middle when his team really need him to. |

Size matters in the midfield, Bont will go forward only to create a mismatch Fyfe style. |

Both excellent players. But with where carlton are at, the leadership Cripps displays is something we are desperately crying out for |

..biased for sure, but crisps hasn't played much and is already a beast inside the stoppage.. ..that strength, nous and tenacity makes him untaggable.. ..but he has that McLean ability to be out in space when his pace shouldn't make that possible.. ..footballer.. |
