Fifteen years ago the process was Jack. When you own the Board you tell them what you have done after the event, not consult them beforehand as happens now. Benign dictatorship can work well but it can also fail horribly. Jack showed us both sides. Hmmm. |

"For us it was just a matter of keeping our nerve and staying committed to what we set out to do in the first place," Dunstall said. "We're embarking on a youth policy and we want someone who can develop and teach and educate and nurture these people. "We're not talking about a quick fix, this is about the club going forward and being set up for 2010." |

The AFL biz in Melb is cut throat, he may well steer us down the wrong path. AFAIK Dunstall has no longer has an official role with Hawthorn. Seeking people from the outside is exactly what we should be doing. I trust that someone like Dunstall would have the right character to fill the role with the honesty and integrity required. Dunstall is an executive at the Renegades now? |

Good god, is anything made more clear by hindsight that a coaching selection? You look at the names of some of the pumpkins that have got coaching appointments over the years and just think "what the absolute @#$%&! were they thinking?" |

If anyone external to the club was asked for and accepted a role on a selection committee, I can't imagine a scenario where they would give anything less than their total commitment to making the best possible recommendation. I don't think there is a 'Carlton' group which could make the best possible decision. We've had no success in the modern game, and have never undertaken an open coaching selection process. They wouldn't know where to start. |

Have they explained how they went about signing the last two coaches yet? What was their methodology exactly? |

POKIES = Caaaaaaaachinnnnnnnng! Mick was like other senior citerzens spending too much time on the pokies and not on the things that matter. In Mick's case that was coaching the team. |

We got it wrong by not putting Wayne Brittain through a selection process and we've been stuffing it up ever since! Lol, it's never happened in 151 years....let's not make this a microcosm of recent history |

Maybe a design with those letters within themselves like the Carlton football club emblem on a navy background.. Do we have any designers? I know we lost my mate Cretylus and his amazing Photoshop skills but there must be someone else. |

People are just throwing up names with no process. I believe we need an Independent Selection Committee to go through a thorough process to decide who should then sit on the Independent Selection Committee.... |
