See, I don't get this.

How can anyone know?

Don't they like his media work?

He could be the greatest or worst coach of all time. Who the @#$%&! would know on this site?

Jimmae knows

Wow....just wow. Barks as senior coach. The bloke is a level 4 certified coach, but gee he's been very average as our Back and Fwd coach you'd have to say.

Matters nought anyway, as purely a caretaker role. At least he's a zany funster sorta dude, so the boys can relax and smile again until the real coach arrives

Bomber, Boldon, Stewie or Ratts in that order for mine.

What has Johnny done to improve our backline? simply Nothing... its been beyond laughable how easily all teams score against us.... No Defence Game plan, no structure, under-sized and beaten on all Levels!!

Having said that, I think we all need to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do for the rest of the year. By now, we all know that he probably did not call the shots or make the moves...

I am even suspecious that Mick was the one who brought in the new players or chooses the team. The BOARD has BLOOD on their hands, and they need to pay for it

Gents it's pretty simple: if he is such a wundercoach-in-waiting, where is the evidence?

He's simply climbed the ladder the way most career assistants do. If he surprises us and pulls out a whole new bag of tricks over the next 3 months, the next question should be 'where the @#$%&! was this over the last 4 and a bit seasons?'

Caretaker. He doesn't have to be good. He just has to take care of our team.

The assistant coaches at Carlton have had little influence over the past 2.5 years. That doesn't mean they don't have the potential.
The players rate Barker and they'd know more than any of us. Give him an opportunity.

I'm happy for him to have the gig but people expecting some sort of dramatic turnaround on his previous output aren't being optimistic, they're being silly.

If we want to forge something, make sure we've got a hot enough fire running first.

I looked up "Peter Principle" and there was a picture of John Barker.
