Yesterday at a pub in Carlton, through a close friend, I had the pleasure and honour of meeting John Nicholls, something my dear departed father would have been very honoured and proud of - for me. Not to disclose a personal conversation 'Big Nick' was quite candid about what he thought of the past and present state of the club, what shone through in his estimations, was a man from the old world that knew how to call a spade a spade & a man who knew the difference between right and wrong. His character shone through and it made sense to me why we named our fairest and best medal after this great club man.

To pose a hyperthetical question - if you met 'Big Nick' what would you ask him and what would you think his response would be?

Signing off 79V.

I would ask him if I could have a selfie with him. Nothing more or less.
I had his number on my locker at school fifty years ago.
He is the greatest Carlton player ever to have pulled on the Jenkins.

I once touched the hem of his garment.

He was up at the Captains Club a few rounds ago answering the questions of Carlton fans.
