Okay I have a confession

and its worse

much worse than MM standing on the hill with a smoking gun

much worse than Jeanie and Matho standing in shadows smoking cigars

you see it was the year 2000

the year after that prelim

the year after we played off

only 5 years after our last, glorious flag

and things were going...okay...

then everything changed... why?

Well it's my fault...not a plan (you know, that tanking plan)...nor was it like MM's hate driven devouring of all things Carlton.

Not a selfish act either...not like some who shall not be named (although they are well known...on the board and well...you know who they are — just read Synbad's posts).

I did it for all the right reasons...to help 2 children in need...still

who says the universe answers to a fair call...

so in 2000 about three or four...maybe five games in...but early in the season...we moved...I moved...to this house

this house I have lived in ever since...

a house built by the ex doctor of Collingwood...I damned the bluebagger soul...I opened the door...I touched the lips of the gods with filthy hands...and things have fallen to the shit since.

BUT!!!!

At the end of this year I am moving out...moving on...Salvation is at hand brothers... the damned planets that have been spinning wildly, damning us with their eccentric loops into darkness...they will align again...the sun will rise...the skies will return to blue...
Yes I claim here and now that 2016 will be the start of our salvation!

We just gotta get outta this place....

I'd follow this better it it was Essendon* but the Pies are just like a little brother you smack around every now and then. Sure that little brother's grown up and he's bigger than us now but he never beat up on us when it mattered and we still have the memories of the floggings we gave him.

And so does he...

I also must accept some responsibility. I left Australia in July 2000 the night Kouta did his knee. Since then Carlton have been woeful. I will be back to retire in about 3 years with Danny's move to get the ball rolling and my return, 2018 - 2019 looks about right.

You're wrong. It is all me.

I left Australia post Christmas 2001.

I did return in September 2010. But it is too late - the damage is done and can't be undone.

See, it's not MM (though his hands shine bright with the blood of our deceased hopes), it's not the board (grown fat on the gristle of our past glories), its not Andy (who needs a forward line) Mckay, it is us...those of us who have done silly things like moved overseas or moved into the wrong house, the "us" that have done nothing, that have gone or not gone to games, that have or have not bought memberships (that they then burnt or did not burn)...It is we — the collective...we the colony of bluebagger ants...we the spoilt brigade, the "singing in the rain" brigade, the Ostrich band of brothers and sisters who think we are a great club... we are to blame...greatness rests on actions being done not on the actions of old...

It is us...all of us...each and every one of us...we are to blame...

But some are more to blame than others...

personally I blame Tommi...no perspective...and Jimmae...too much perspective...and BV...bloody MM dissembler...and Moshe, bloody language dissembler...and CK...jokes can sink a ship faster than any iceberg...and, sticking with the sinking ship analogy, that Tsunami of hatred, Bluewave... But most especially Synbad...oh yes...After all he's the one leading us on this voyage of disasters!

butt not verbs...he's too busy eating the popcorn...and not GW, he's apples!
