I LOVE the Carlton Football Club. Having admitted that, I’m not oblivious to its failings. My earliest VFL memory is sitting on the wing at Princes Park every second weekend; my greatest was watching the Blues defeat Collingwood in the 1979 Grand Final.

Fast-forward to 2015, however, and Carlton is on its knees. Losses are mounting and players wearing the famous navy guernsey lack confidence in their ability. The AFL doesn’t want one of its Melbourne-based power clubs to become the competition’s easybeats.

Here is the road map to resurrect Carlton’s fortunes. First, all Blues supporters need to understand that even if every club in the AFL plays to the very best of its ability, one team will finish top of the ladder while another ends up on the bottom. Footy is a “zero-sum game”: for every winner there must be a loser.

Something most of the media are missing is the supporters aren't protesting our on field stuff and being bottom of the ladder.

Such crucial efforts are known as footy’s “one-percenters”, yet too many Carlton players seem unwilling to carry them out. The solution is for the on-field leadership group to lead by example. Senior footballers like Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs must perform the hard one-percenters so their less experienced teammates realise what needs to be done.

Watch what happens if he runs and mark blocks him in his role as the independent whatever whatever.
Personally I dont think he will.. But I hope he does

I'd want to know who's with him

Of course but that's because he's in total self preservation as ate all senior players.

Having said that I don't want the emphasis on the players.. Even if football is what most people understand.
Were spoilt here... We know more about the behind the scenes than most people.
It's crucial people see beyond the football to go forward..

They love the q and a segment around election time.
It's called engagement of the masses.
They love to get our blessing

He won't block him, but they won't endorse him: almost all of the experience he brings is inferior to incumbents beyond his media work, which of late leaves him looking like our own version of John Laws...

So he's the best at media.. But the fruit seller is better qualified at what exactly jim?
Failed raids on hawthorn?
Shooting off his mouth?
Bringing his best mate to the club?
Signing up and then pushing out an employee?
Then paying him out?

How can be not be approved by the independent mark guy?
Which comes back to what we were arguing about when id banned...
It's a tool

Why endorse or not endorse?
Why not let the democratically elected process by the members who vote decide?
Fortress Carlton!

No endorsement doesn't stop him from putting his name in the hat, it just means they think he's surplus to current needs at board level.

But I look forward to reading your reply which completely obfuscates this point using half-cocked metaphors

OK but it can influence.
The independent review committee dont endorse him as a worthwhile board member..
But what we have dont need an endorsement.
Basically it's a deterrent so people don't do it if they don't want you... And instead people get invited on as those they process as handy to themselves.

Laughable

His Herald Sun column is a laugh a minute. Apparently the three key instruments of improving Victorian roads are:

1. Rail service to Tullamarine Airport
2. Uber
3. Automated electric cars

He seems very innovative and in touch with modern solutions... when can we cede power to our new Caesar? I wish not to think for myself, but hand over my belongings to Tom, who will never manipulate my good will for his own financial gain
