Even during this "Golden Age" with one of the worst collection of players ever to pull on a Carlton Jumper we were on the odd occasion able to pull off a stirring over top eight opposition.

I'd say this current collection of motley (with apologies to Peter) first rounders, and misfit Rookies, are not even in the remotest ball park capable of anything resembling a stirring effort.

This club is currently worse than our previous "Golden Age of Shitness 2002 - 2007).

I actually preferred going to watch us play during the Golden Age of Shitness.

We were actually honest about how shit we were, and the players gave an honest crack.

This current lot are dishonest and like their Board of Directors dont actually think their is a problem.

A young guy (collingwood supporter born in 92) casually remarked today that the little clubs 'like Carlton' haven't got a chance.. what with free agency and everything.

it's a harsh reality being a 'little' club' these days. How the hell can you turn around the perception of being 'a little club'. It is ingrained in kids that we are a crap little club.

Don't forget 2004. That was a ripper, set the club up for greatness that year.

Don't worry about the young Collingwood supporter born in 1992.

I'm worrying about the young Carlton Supporter born in 1993, who told me he "couldn't be arsed" going last night. Then I realised how wise he was, when I looked at the 22 players in a Carlton jumper that "couldn't be arsed" turning up last night either.

I enjoyed the golden age of shitness more than now too.
At least back then we had a good excuse for being so shitty.
It is unbelievable that we are back there again, something that a lot of the average supporter could see coming but these morons in charge of the club couldn't.

We are currently in the Golden Age of Laziness.

Easily the laziest group I have ever seen as a Carlton supporter.

Mind you, Murphy and Gibbs are both in the Golden Age of Shitness and Laziness.

Can't argue against any of these observations and comments........sadly!

Even if the AFL gave us 10 out of the first 15 draft picks next year it would be 4 or 5 years of toil....that's if we got it right.

Oh what to do ????????

Someone give me some hope...............Lord....you up there?

We've moved from the Shit Age to the Lazy Age. You could probably call it the CBF Age.

If you CBF.

Ahhhh the shitty years...

Streaming a radio broadcast in Perth, over dial-up internet connection with constant drop-outs, getting flogged by StKilda with Digby Morrell a main forward target.
X Clarke taking speccies!

The commentators saying it was like a professional AFL team taking on a second rate VFL team, with Carlton needing 10 years to rebuild.

I listened to the whole horrible game, and the post match analysis!

Fast forward to 2014, reserved seat, simple train trip to the ground, CBF.

No membership this year. No contact from the club.

Mind you I told them to remove my number from their overpriced raffle sales call out so maybe they lost it altogether.

Actually I'm quite certain they've lost it altogether.

I can see your point Aggers

but there were plenty of games in the 02-07 period where our players just didn't give a shit. Plenty.

I agree with this actually.

I think we forget there were times it looked like the players couldn't care less.

The difference from 2002-2007 is we understood why we were shit.

This time around we were expecting a golden age and instead the club has somehow become a rabble again.

Yes but our list was truly shit and we only had one truly talented and classy player.

If our players didn't try a least they were honest enough to do it with honour and dignity because deep down they knew they were not good enough.

In this bunch of players we have far more talented and class, but they are dishonest and couldn't be bothered to put the effort into what's required to at least provide a contest.

Shivers only 5 rounds in & the feeling of despair.

You're right. We had a young bull of a player called Fevola who could win a game of his own boot.

He frightened the living daylight out of defenders & would not take a step back in the rough stuff.

We haven't had many A graders of late
