I'd like to understand how this works, because it's not 1965 and it's more than the coach telling the board where the magnets fell. Who are the people involved, how long do they sit down for, and what are the factors discussed? Tonight, it sounds like Henderson was 50/50, and the selection of Warnock was desperate. I'm happy for a coach to opt for structure over individuals when things are relatively equal, but Warnock has been a waste of space for the majority of the last 3 seasons. When that happens, you restructure to suit your available talent. I personally would have picked Dick or DVR to play this match, which would have given us better midfield and forward support, and engaged Rowe as 2nd ruck had Henderson been right to go. The capacity to ruck at the centre bounce is not so important that you lose run and pressure all over the field because the bloke brought in glides across the turf like a steam roller in an F1 rally. So if Henderson wasn't right, there was Watson available, who would have happily sat as a permanent forward all night and opened up options. Everitt, Cripps and Gibbs are all capable of jumping up in the around the ground stoppages. Need to think outside the box, like we did with the kickouts. We've been too tall this year in terms of how much run we lose versus what we gain. Go small, and build on the performance that comes from that. Engineer a forward structure that maximise our skill levels to a man. Warnock/Casboult/Jones/Ellard have not been doing that. |

Bump. Would love to hear what people know about the MC in any AFL environment. |

Would rather focus on this than the post-match; nothing to take out of that game other than a failure to compete. |

My guess is McKay gives a flakey run down on what's on offer and they take it from there. |

In the Ratten era I know it was: Ratten, McKay, Sticks (board representative), possibly some others (doctors/physios/conditioning staff?) but you get gist. What I'd like to see us doing, if we're not already: - MM and major assistants - VFL coach - Opposition analyst - SOS with Sabremetrics analysis - McKay as a rules/regs advisor - Board rep as an observer - Buttifant, Physio, Doctor to present injury concerns and potential issues for those fit to play (eg. Henderson has calf/hamstring tightness, this may restrict how far and much he can lead, structure to have him play deep FF only) - The head football tech guy to provide data to work with I want a @#$%&! war room where some serious questions are asked of weekly player performances and what instructional sets can be handed to players as they are dropped and as they are brought in. Firm tasks handed over to the VFL coach that players must accomplish to be considered for selection. If they have such KPIs, what were they for Warnock, and how did they let that kind of performance into the team? |

Doesn't need to be that complicated IMO. Coaching staff should be able to handle it. No other liniment sniffers required. |

I like to imagine match committee as the Downfall meme with MM playing Hitler. |
