The most important game of the year for us, to date. Even though they're all worth four points. |

Walker listed to play for the reserves tomorrow - if he plays well then comes in the side. Ditto Whiley and Buckley. Hopefully Cripps will be fit. Ideally I'd like to see the following changes: Out Smith (not ready yet) Curnow or Carazzo (only 1 should be in side) Ellard (to make way for Cripps) Jones (Walker to play 3rd tall role) In Walker Whiley Cripps Buckley Tutt gets another chance. Tuohy on thin ice. Rowe and Jamo need to improve or else they get replaced by Jaksch the following week |

Look forward to a Ciaran Sheehan or Byrne coming in soon too, the former did show a bit last year and he plays with intent too. This team desperately needs some honesty. |

It's an early Saturday game, right? Thank @#$%&! for that... all my Saturdays are spent house-hunting these days. Do not want to even check the website for this one. |

Whiley isn't ready. Outs: Carrazzo - Mentally and tactically still very good, but physically off the pace at the moment. Back to the reserves to give the body a rest and refresh. White - Injured and structurally an awful choice. Not quick enough for a stoppage role. Ellard - Shouldn't have been picked in the first place but played manfully in a quick tempo game. Smith - Not ready; fitness will improve over time Jones - We've tried him in the forward structure but between his current tactical awareness (still learning our game style, the players) and his fitness (work rate was good in the first half but sagged off despite his continually trying to make contests) we need to move onto another forward target Ins: Byrne - pushes Tuohy, Docherty and Yarran further afield, because right now they are deep in defence when they get the ball unless they run repeat 80m sprints. Buckley - attacking spark that can support midfield Cripps - straight back in to provide more structure at the stoppages and offer spread through other players Watson - rotate in a new forward target, preferably one that can make multiple goal scores from scraps Walker - can play as the sub if he's right to go; another attacking spark with the work rate required for AFL footy |

I'm going take some really strong sleeping medication before this game and hopefully forget it ever happened. |

Byrne or Cripps in for White. We'll kill Smith if we keep playing him. Time to swap him for Buckley. If we had the players in reserve, you'd love to drop about another 15. Top of the list for me would be Rowe, Carrazzo, Jones, Tuohy, Menzel, Gibbs & Murphy. We have nothing to replace them, so that won't happen. Brace yourselves for another belting..... |

You'd reckon Walker and Whiley would need another week in the VFL. Watson won't make us better, but if Jones has another bad game then maybe we have to make that swap. Can you imagine a slower forward line than Watson, Casboult and Henderson? I had a bad feeling during the preseason that Rowe was going to have a shocker and unfortunately it's working out that way. What do we do? Drop him and play Hendo back? The problem is that the only time we look any good is when Hendo is leading up. I think we might have to keep playing Rowe, at least until Jaksch comes back. Anyway, we're shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. We're simply crap. Not fit enough. Not smart enough. Not hard enough. On the positives......who will be the #1 pick in the Draft this year...? |

I'm reticent to blame the forwards this week because they did present, and present well. A guy like Menzel is going to have a pretty bleak stat sheet if he keeps making leads that aren't rewarded. 20 I50s in a half says everything you need to know about what the forwards had to work with, and I don't think it got any better in the second half. Casboult, Murphy and Gibbs needs the riot act. Casboult was smashing into contests to the detriment of his team mates, but improved this in the second half (mostly because his fellow talls were exhausted); Murphy needs to keep his head up and inspire with his performance, whether that be a left-foot banana, a knock-on, or a strong tackle or spoil. Gibbs is in the same boat as Murphy. I feel the way these two treat the bottom rungs of the playing group rots the base on which we build or game style. We need the 22 to be confident in the 22; not 15-17. |

So we paid the big $$$ for Malthouse and Son to get us the 2015 number 1 draft pick? Interesting. |
