Had a decent look at the Doggies vs Saints replay last night.

Basically just to see who to look out for when we come up against them.

Two blokes who stood out for mine were Mitch Hahn and Daniel Giansiracusa.

Both blokes have to be stopped or we will be cut to shreds.
Mitch Hahn is good and always has been.
A hard running, hard hitting midfielder who just goes and goes and goes.
Damaged the Saints a lot on Friday night and has run himself into a bit of form.
Would like to see Banno go on him.

DG seems to be finally living up to the hype about him.
Seems to have come of age and played pretty damn well on Friday night, rotating through the middle and the forward line.
I'd look at Carrazzo going on him when he's in the forward line and perhaps Campo or Stevo on him in the middle.

Mmmm maybe I'm seeing double?
Can't believe the Saints didn't tag Mitch Hahn after he started carving them up.

Saints of last year! Shut down plan A and there is no plan B

I agree with your analysis PJ ....Don't know what it is about Carazzo but he has become the Aaron Davey nemesis

Robert Murphy goes alright in the midfield.

As for Carazzo on Davey, yep, that's twice.

But how was it on the weekend, Davey floored it, and granted, burned him off.

Meanwhile, the commentators absolutely jizzed their dacks over it. He then sprayed the ball at goal (rather than tee it up) put it out on the full, and basically cost his team a goal. He did the selfish thing and wasn't widely criticised for it.

Anyway, I reckon we have to stop Murphy.

I reckon it'll be won and lost in the middle.

Carlton have Scotland, Camporeale, Kouta ???, Stevens, Walker, Prendergast, French, Houlihan and McGrath...

...while the Bulldogs have...

West, Johnson, Eagleton, Giansiracusa, Murphy, Cooney, Cross, Hahn and Darcy.

I had Boyd, Minson and Ray in there but I don't see them getting oodles of time in the middle.

Should be a good battle in the middle though.

I thought you were going to say Scott Saunders and CK95 because if we make it to a grand final, we won't see them for ages - they'll be drinking non-stop!

Agree re: Hahn. Been very impressed with this guy so far. Runs in straight lines, uses his body very well.

Will Minson is a big lump, and an absolute gun. Having a tall player to ruck and run off him *cough Setanta* would be ideal.

I think we should have an edge in the midfield, and our quick rebounding and long kicking style of play should help us beat what will probably be the biggest flood since Aceh Province.

I think they're both decent players but they won't win the match for the Doggies.

I like Mitch Hahn as a footballer and reckon if his skills were a bit better than he'd have the capacity to become one of the really good players in the league. Good size and is hard to match up on. Last year we had Houlihan on him at the start which was a shocker, and we need to get the matchup right.

And Chambers has done the job in the past for West Coast and McGrath is also a decent tagger so we have more than a few options.

I don't think we need to worry about any of there players.

Why? Check there scores in all the games so far. Not one score over 91pts i think it is (Can't be bothered double checking right now, ok i will).

vs Sydney 1.11.15 (90)
vs Saints 2.10.7 (85)

They will try to flood and keep our score down, if we score 100 points we will win. I would put money on Carlton every week against he dogs in a shoot out this season, only because of Eades game plan that he has drilled into the mndset of the players.

I think we will be alright on saterday night. We have stepped up in our skills department and look far more polished than the bulldogs at this stage of the year.

I have seen both of the bulldogs games and they played like we played when brittain was coaching. Very ugly

Good call phoenix re Hahn.Would have to be one of the most underated midfielders going around. The difficulty with this guy that he plays inside and outside. Not scared to get the hard ball, but can also run and run as well.Reckon Bannister is the only guy on our list who can cover him in both areas.Darcy is a given.Just let him do his thing coz he will be too good for any of ours.Someone mentioned MURPHY.Absolutely brilliant player. The way hes going hes gonna be the dogs version of Bruce Doull.I rate this guy so highly i would tag him.Yes,i know hes a backman but i would tag him all the same.Sets up from the back and creates so much for them.Check how many goals the dogs get after he has initiated proceedings from defence.Dont say it about many, but would love to see this guy in a navy blue top.

The player who I worry about when we play the Dogs is Rosy Cheeks Johnson. Always seems to bob up and kick goals etc.

Personally, I saw Farren Ray as a real worry.

Had a great game last week, VERY cool under pressure for his age.

I really think you have nothing to worry about.....

The saints played just crap footy and nearly won

IMO you are much better than the Bulldogs...

See I would have said the same thing a few weeks back.
But there is something about the Bulldogs.
Something that tells me that they won't go away that easily.

We all thought we'd steam roll them in 2004 and look what they did to us.

I'm not really worried about any one player from the Western Bulldogs. We're a better team and we should beat them. I'm more concerned about the performance of our players and how they'll adjust to being the favourite instead of the underdog for a change.

Agree UJ. Prender might get the gig on Darcy around the ground.
