Really, the problem at the moment isn't with Mick or the gameplan it's with guys like Robert Wiley. He's been far too long out of the game to add value. We really should have looked at guys like Leigh Brown instead.

Ask yourself who went out and got Wiley then you will see where the problem is.
Malthouse ensured he only got assistant coaches who had no aspirations of becoming senior coaches

It wouldn't surprise me if Mick wasn't operating on full mental faculties. He looks increasingly distracted in interviews and sometimes disoriented.

Yep....and Brad Scott never had aspirations, neither did Mark Neeld

I think that is naive.

One big flaw we have had over the past 10 years is development. Since Wiley and MM have arrived that has improved markedly IMO. Guys like Yarran, Rowe, White, Casboult, Gibbs, Buckley, Simpson etc are much better players now.

The issue is the list. It is easily the worst in the AFL. Get that right and then judge them, not before.

Thats fine but look at the assistants we have now
He probably never thought he was going to get replaced by Bucks he ensured when he came here noone was snapping at his heels

Maybe we did. Maybe they thought he wasn't ready. Lots of maybe's. Hows Gippsland Power traveling?

Cazzesman, just remember the general rule that applies around here.....if they aren't at Carlton, they should be.

Wiley should do more of Micks media commitments.

The structure of coaching panels needs to change.

Do we have to have a "senior coach" whose duties must include "post match interviews" ?

Lets be innovative and get our coaches focusing more on what they each do well.

We should get Brendon Bolton across just to handle the interviews.

The board read this forum and are aware of the backlash of employing another ex-Pois person

Maybe if the journo's raise the standard of their questions they might get a better response from coaches.

I don't mind Malthouse putting them in their place.

He did such a great job at Melbourne, Roos booted him out the first chance he got.
