Quote:
We don't yet know our exact result, but we are anticipating it will be around $500,000 [loss],'' said LoGiudice, who took over the presidency from Stephen Kernahan mid-season.

LoGiudice said Sunday home games ''were a huge factor'' in the loss, with crowds down and family membership also losing ground this year, in a year when the majority of Melbourne clubs - including Collingwood and Richmond - have suffered downturns in attendances.

Not good.

Not expected.

I dont care about the fixture but want it fixed.

Why cant we make money every year?
Dont the pokies work like they use to?
Lost sponsors? Half filled book?

WTF is going on. Can't blame Elliot. Can't be just the fixture.

MAYBE MM told the club to pay off the debt this year so the focus of the budget in 2015 favour the footy department whilst there's still a window open with Judd is still on the list.

I've said since the beginning of the year that the AFL should be compensating teams like us for this failed fixture "experiment."

So what if the 150th party cost $500k?

Etihad stadium deal!
How much did we pay them for the privilege to play GC on Saturday in front of 25k?

I think a good chunk of that loss comes from lack of membership sales.

loguidice said a few weeks ago the fixture cost us at least 250K. we have also paid back the afl loan.

If our debt has decreased I don't care about a loss, AFL delivered loss mind you.

this whole bullshit of paying out the poor(er) clubs from the richer ones has to stop too.

afl dropped the ball this season ... too much tinkering with fixture times and venues, too much pandering to the TV rights deal. A-league and the roundball game are on the rise, afl attendances on the decline.

interesting times.

$500k isn't a disaster.

The result of this loss is that the board is unchanged.

Play on. Business as usual.

Instead of whining about the fixture and early season losses, get out and earn some money. Richmond started badly. I bet they don't make a loss. We aren't even as good as Richmond anymore.
