Club has just announced it was Mitch who was with Jeffy at the incident Sunday morning. Mitch's eye socket was broken and his season is over . He was fined $5000.
AFAIK he is out of contract. I think that's the end for him.

Carlton player Mitch Robinson will miss 3-4 weeks after scans revealed he has suffered a fractured eye socket.

The injury was sustained in the early hours of Sunday morning, following an altercation in the city, when Robinson was with teammate Jeff Garlett.

Neither Robinson or Garlett have been charged over the incident and the Club’s primary concern is the welfare of both players.

However, Robinson and Garlett breached the Club’s code of conduct and both players have been sanctioned. Robinson, who is unavailable to play due to injury, has been fined $5,000 while Garlett was withdrawn from this weeks’ selection considerations and fined $2,500.

GM – Football Operations Andrew McKay says Carlton players are expected to adhere to high standards.

“It’s disappointing it has come to light that both players were out in the early hours of Sunday morning – had they not put themselves in that position then this incident could have been avoided,” McKay said.

“It should serve as a warning to all our players that they need to take responsibility for their behaviour and the situations they put themselves in. As professional athletes we expect them to lead by example.”

“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated at our football club.”

I thought it might be the behaviour you would expect from two guys already on the way out.

But then I thought guys looking to play elsewhere would try to make sure they get the best offer elsewhere by keeping their nose clean.

Now I just think they are cauliflower.

So what exactly does "that type of behaviour will not be tolerated at our club" mean?

A fine, slap on the wrist, what?

Personally I believe both should be shipped out at years end. Between the both of them they haven't got half a brain and have no respect for teammates or the club. For Robinson it's not the first time this has happened.

Jeffy is already gone of his own volition.

Tell Robbo to find a new home. You're suspended for the THIRD time this year and you're out gallivanting at 5am? The fight and injury is just icing on the top. See ya Robbo. How ironic that his 100 the game will probably be his last.

We don't have the depth to get rid of Robinson.

Ch7 journo on Twitter says that Carlton only learned about Robbo's involvement today and he basically lied about his injury and let Jeffy cop the flack.

What gets me is that the club is responsible too. "It’s disappointing it has come to light..." - in other words "We tried to cover up Robbo's role in this and obviously went public only because we were going to be found out".

It doesn't send a good message of transparency. I am filthy on the players but the club has been no better. They flogged Jeffy in the press earlier this week (rightfully so) and left Mitch out. Why? Because it wasn't public knowledge so they hoped that they could suppress it. Amateurs.

If that's true he must go.

Lying for 4 days and only coming clean because the media found out?

Can he just go away.

I agree with that, particularly based on my above post. Have my doubts though? How hard did the club look into it?

Mick has always had a fair share of bad boys in his teams, if Robbo is required he will stay, no need to over react, we dont need choir boys, we have plenty of sissy boys playing for the Bullants right now.

A suspended player suffers a fractured eye socket on the same night one of his best mates is assaulted on his birthday and the club is not suspicious that the two are related???
