Football is an incestous business. The best football administrators come from within football.
Hawks used a recruitment firm and got the CEO they sacked 5 months later.
Supposedly our football board are experts in business. Why can't they interview and select the CEO themselves.
The pool isn't that big.

Risk management (coverinhg their arse). If it goes pear shaped, they can point to the process...

So you think the recruitment firm selected and appointed the Hawthorn Ceo?

MLG now has a trust problem. Probably should step down as President and clear the way for a fresh new President/CEO relationship.

He's being portrayed as dishonest and deceitful in the media.
I'd suggest a "trust problem" is a fairly valid description. I'm not saying he should step down but he's undone a lot of the good work he's done to build up a respectful profile within the media.

so 3 other clubs sack their CEO and when Carlton does it’s a huge story.

There’s not much to it than people think they have some better in mind to do even an even better job...... what’s wrong with that exactly.

And to be honest, I don’t care how our president presents him self to the media prong..... I’m hoping our president doesn’t have much to say to the media because that means not much wrong happening.

It might help if people like big Bruce Mathieson politely decline media interview requests in situations like this.
Avoid fanning the flames, let the story die, and let the board get on with their task behind the scenes.

Biggest beat up of the year.
If the board thinks after 3 years, they can get someone better, they'd be negligent not to.
The guys feelings don't matter.
Commuting from Adelaide may be part of the problem. You either commit 100% or you don't.

I think the issue is more to do with how the club handled and communicated it. Very amateurish.

(I heard a snippet of MLG getting owned by Spud Frawley of all people and cringed)

Herald Sun whispers : Steven Trigg received a call from the club to organise the return of his company vehicle. He confirmed that it was ok to pick up the vehicle in ..... Adelaide!

Replacing him isn't the problem.

The problem is seemingly the way it was done and the issue of trust going forward with staff.

Tell that to the Holden workers here in SA that lost their jobs last week....possibly forever.

Trigg will find another $$$$ job, if he hasn't already, and people will be clambering to take his spot at the so called club that has staffing issews.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
