Quote:
Then - what does Carlton want to represent and stand for? How will it ensure that happens, and who will make sure?
Has the club truly invested in development – of footballers and coaches, as much as staff and its supporters – or has its default position been to identify, and then attempt to buy, what's considered to be industry best?
Did it attempt to do that only as recently as last month when it threw a bag of money at Hawthorn's recruiting boss only to be turned down?
Carlton must surely realise now that success, if it is to be sustainable, cannot be bought but must be bred.
Blues fans are indicating they feel disillusioned. The season membership target was 50,000. As of Saturday, the tally was 47,392.
We await the new and honest game plan.

good article i think, still this sort of scrutiny has been a long time coming, but at least it is getting air, and hopefully MLG realises how out of touch our billionaire board appears to be.

Too many sentences, not that I mind reading sentences with commas, cluttered with commas.

"Blues fans are indicating they are feeling disillusioned"

Exactly right. It's on here, it's at games, when I speak with other Carlton fans it's the same.

What do we stand for and what is our direction. No one knows. All we get is cliches' and mixed messages.

This is the single biggest issue facing MLG and he needs to address it and address it soon.

As to something to stand for - dotting our i's and crossing our t's would be a good place to start.

Sam Lane with the late news. I've been on about the Blue Print for a long time with others. Oh and the Blue Print didn't mean Carlton stood for something, it was a pipe dream that was never achievable as the baseline culture to build from was still broken.

Can't stand her drivel. At least in the paper you don't have to listen to her voice or look at her.

Er... Is there at all just at least a tiny, eensy weensy, miniscule possibility that Same Lane now has an axe to grind?

WTF has she been (and for that matter, her father too) all these years. We've been bleeding since around 2002. And then certainly since about 2008. The only noise I've heard about it is from .... Synbad. Sam Lane.... shtum. Tim Lane...... shtum. Andy Maher..... Go Bombers.

Crickets from the MSM. Only posters on here. Even many of my so-called intelligent and educated mates...... Carlton - she'll be right; Essendon* - move on, nothing to see.

Nice swipe at her arch-nemesis Mick at the start too.

Whatever her reasoning and whatever you think of her I believe she's right and until things change I am happy for anyone in the media to keep highlighting the issues.

I just seems that sitting from the outside the only chance we have for change is to keep banging on about it until the CFC understand. More importantly they need to do something because at the moment the lack of direction and structure is uninspiring.

The blue print was written by ernst & young upon direction of the club executive that consisted of meaningless corporate motherhood statements...
