Pretty good first half. Shithouse second.

Judd really needs to go another year.

our midfield with him allows murphy and gibbs to run riot.

Bell > Robinson.

I'd rather have a bell than a dingaling.

Goodbye Mitch.

Second half was terrible

If we serve up that rubbish against the Cats they will murder us

Good to play on Saturday afternoon and good to get a win.

Thought GC were pretty poor considering a finals spot was at stake.

A win is a win, great first half followed by a forgettable second half.
Great games by Simmo, Judd, Bell and Waite. Good to see the new Irishman do okay in his first game, was surprised at his skill considering he has played so few AFL games.

I hadn't been to a game for a while given numerous issues. Took the kids today.

Thought we were very good early. Club has impressively improved its ground structural setup and MM deserves credit for that. No doubt the Suns were off a bit but we were well short of full strength.

Positives: Judd/Murph/Gibbs/Waite/Thomas/Simmo all very good, Sheehan did well on debut, Bell's best game, Defensively very good

Negatives: Brock is cooked, Second half bore fest, Suns cleared from stoppages too easily at times.

Triple M commentary continuously called it "bruise free footy". I disagree. I reckon both sides worked really hard defensively (as the scores showed). Carlton's first half was good offensively. Bruise free footy is usually high scoring. This wasn't.

Had to leave early in the last, but controlled the game up to then.

Out powered and dominated the suns in the 1st half... brought back distant memories.
Controlled 3rd quarter and made life tough for the suns.

Sheehan has a good left foot, good natural thinker and great footy physique.
For a guy who's just started playing he has massive upside IMO.

Need to get our younger developing kids over to Arizona for an extended stint.... don't worry about the mature blokes.

Positive day all in all.

In such a disappointing season a win is a win. Very good in first half, although GC were witches hats.second half ordinary. Great debut by Sheehan. How come these irish guys seem to be able to kick so well. Waite good but he is a tease when he plays well you expect a shocker around the corner. Thomas got a lot of the ball, but he is a v. expensive half back flanker. Judd is still our best player. Bell showed a fair bit. Casboult is off the boil. Gibbs will win the b and f and Simmo is a fabulously consistent player. Good to se Graham get a game. McLean has battled well for a few years, but if he gets a regular game, it shows there isn't much in the 2s.

In fairness to Thomas, who has taken a heap of criticism this year and made no excuses for himself, he organised the players extremely well in defence, took a number of telling intercept marks and ran and carried the ball well. Probably his best game this year. Gradually, week by week, his output and influence increases.

If he played that game for the filth, he'd probably get three votes and a feature article for the toothless masses.

I always thought he was overrated at the Pies (pretty good but never great) and he hasn't been fantastic for us this year, but he has played every week, is at or near the top of all the statistical measurements, competed well and (most importantly) taken defensive running to a level a lot of our players had never imagined.

The papers have wrongly flogged him as a bust but for a guy who cost us nothing trade-wise, he has been pretty good. He could well go back to another level next year.

It was easily his best game for the year.

It looks like his fitness, and probably his ankle, and almost back to normal now so he's able to run. Still hampering his kicking though as he had a couple of shockers.

The leadership you mentioned, organising players on field, and I'm sure setting an example on the training track are things most people miss.

I'd expect his form to be much, much better next year.

Whether it justifies the price tag is another story.

Calf injury was stated during the coverage.
