The after match conferance has become a blood sport. The journos have got a sniff of blood in the air and are in a frenzy. The biggest elephant in the game park is wounded and the hunters are honing in.Its a bloodlust.Mick is Liberty Vallance. And every gunnslinger in town wants to shoot him down. They all wanna be the man that shot Liberty Vallance.Mick knows it.But Mick dont scare easily. The gunnslingers hate the fact that Mick is a moving target.Caro and Robbo,no wonder they detest Mick,he just wont stay still.
Which brings me to my point.People are more than entitled to ask Mick a question..Thats there right.Hell, ive had little jabs at him myself...............Journos are entitled to ask civil questions and are entitled to get civil answers............thats the trouble though aint it.They aint civil questions. They are loaded questions, trick questions, sneaky talk around corners sorta questions. When a journo asks Mick about Carlton they arent even slightly interested in his answer, they just want him to trip up so they can pounce. They are the ultimate sadists who revel in there preys suffering.I cant believe the outrage against Mick.Me,i'm wrapped that we have a coach that gets on the front foot and gives the Journo's ther own medicine. And when they cop there right whack the sooks squeal like two year olds chucking a tantrum.Poor it on 'em Mick, thats what i say.Reckon Micks press conferances are his strong suite,in fact i would like him to go harder.
Effen hell folks,T Cers fealing sorry for journos, takes the cake for mine

it's not about mick taking on Caro , or TJ, or Barret , or robbo...

it's not Mick vs journo

it's about mick listening to a question and then communicating a message to the members

Yeah, but Robbo loves the Bombers and loves Jimmy even more.Robbo is so clearly biased in his reporting of the Essendon* scandal its not funny.Or should i say non reporting. Why wont Robbo ask the hard questions ? why is he concentrating on Vlad instead of the architect of the whole thing Jimmy ? if Robbo was a lawyer he would be barred. If he was a docter he would be deregisterd for negligence and malpractice.Robbo has knocked off Patrick Smith as my most hated journo.Actually Patrick has regained a little bit of my faith with his unbiased Essendon* coverage. He has at least had the intestinal fortitude to to cast his Essendon* allegiance aside and be objective.Thats something Robbo will never be,objective, its all about point scoring with Robbo.....................Robbo is a classic case of a nobody trying to be a somebody.

Theyre just looking for defletions... if the media want credibility they would go out and chase the stench outside of windy hill....
cant take them seriously.

commetti said the victory over collingwood was the real news not the stuff thats been dogging Essendon* for two years...
laughable

yes we know if u can try and hone in on malthouse that u will feel like youre doing your jobs you sad flowers!!

malthouse will cop it when its time... in the meantime do a story on how hird can return in a month with all this going on
or when hardwick told a reporter he "will deck him..."
if all this is too much for caro and sam they should go cover netball....

Don't you get Mick's message on a Monday?

OP is correct on the baiting by supposed journo's.
Again, I don't see anything in his replies to Sam Lane. Questions got their due response and answered openly.

Stevo (another ordinary reporter) tries to probe and gets his due whack for his pestering questions. He then tries his MM jibes on game day at the upcoming coaches dinner @ CEO's house. Stevo, you're the one that has no runs on the board in the AFL.

Rexy,i reckon Mick answers the questions with the members in mind.I am more than happy for our coach to put smart arses in ther place and as a Carlton member i fully support him.Pour it on those scavenging jackals i say.

"Sucked in" implies that the football media are somehow tricking Malthouse into being abrasive. I think he know exactly what he's saying.

Spot on! A press conference is re the game just played, if journos want to play their own game and Mick gives them a whack - so what?

why dont you know????

u seem to have a handle on what went on....

you didnt hear it in its entirety???

they sounded abit scared when hardwick threatened to "deck" the next reporter that said his players "were scared"....

maybe mick should threaten to deck a germaine greer sometime..... then he might really give them a reason to go on about this....

not sure what this is all about....

we dont hear from the president
we dont hear from a ceo
but mick has to be the only ambassador around this club???

hes the only one that comes away straight after the heat of battle.. to ridiculous hypocritical

yes we know were pathetic... most carlton supporters know we stunk it up... what will mick say???

how do afl journalists get accredited anyway/?

is there a course??... or can anyone get the job ... if he is a "good bloke"... like timmy watson... or tim darcy...or ummmm who else is a good bloke....?>...gary lyon is a good bloke... brayshaw and dwayne... good blokes....

mike sheahan .. is he ever going to win a prize for journalism and media???

or sam lane... ..is she interested in asking genuine questions or trying to inflame mick???

i dont feel im ever getting anything meaningful from any coach...

should mick learn to give nothing answers to nothing questions like some coaches?
would that make everybody feel more fuzzy if he gave them meaningless utterances ?

is this what its all about???

in all my life i have never heard any of those interviews give me anything meaningful.. have u???

token AFL touch for the supporters is it???

id prefer meaningful media stuff coming out from clubs and not straight after a game... because we know thats not going to happen

should he be saying ..... "kind of a line in the sand not a real line in the sand like ratten"

ratten got sucked into that one... and we havent forgotten about it....

the tables should be turned
the media should be questioned on their handling of things....so should the umpires and everybody else....

the game is nothing but a sickening mirage

Actually theyre trying to pretend theyre working

going to work and asking ridiclous one sided stuff is not work.. they should be digging trenches or at least doing real journalist stuff...

is getting a nothing quote back something journalistic???

listen to every after match interview and tell me what youve learnt...

go on...

just do it...

its just bullshit....

you can get up in AFL bullshit all day long...

in among all that bulshit coaches feed them.. they manage to find a gem once every so often.. and they think theyre doing work

dissect the game.. i dare them..do some real work

tell us where this game is at right now...
what is going on with the game as a whole.. and then break it up and go into that

its just fairyfloss!!!

and they are just clowns

sorry but Rexy what are you on about. I watched the conference, thought Mick gave answers to the questions.
